New battery in, how long can I go without registering?

I was on my way to San Diego from San Antonio, TX. I'm in the middle of nowhere Sonora, TX.

ABS light and ! light came on. Deja vu all over again when my battery died out on the road 2 years ago. Battery voltage was at 10.5. I've put a new one in, start up and drive so far, half a mile, no issues. How long can I go without registering? I have 1500 more miles to go.

I regret not having done the alternator for the past 2 months now if that is also the case. Still the same one for a 2010.

I have the D-KAN cable, waiting for Alpine to reply back and see if he can register tonight. Otherwise, I'll just keep going until I reach San Diego and register there.

You can drive it forever that way technicially, just the chance of the battery life being shortened since it is not charging the battery optimally/fully.

You should be able to use it for however long, just beneficial to register it. If you have MHD, you can register your battery through that. If
Not, you already have the cable, don’t know if you have a tablet with USB adapter, you can buy mhd on Android store and register it yourself.

ok cool, I'll just have to double check once my car is running that my alternator is working at showing at 14 volts and if I'm increasing the idle and I see the volts go higher than 15, could be my voltage regulator is messed up then

Alpine won't be able to help me register until Monday. But I'm relieved, another day of driving with no issues I hope.

If the new battery has the same specs, you can register it for free with BMWLogger: https://bit.ly/2WQnhH1
