Motul 300v Oil Lab Results

Oil Lab Results:
Liqui Moly - 5000 miles FBO JB4 Map 5 17psi
Motul 300v - 2700 miles FBO JB4 + Custom BEF Map 6 20psi

Chromium seems really high, but iron and aluminum are quite low. People are running way bigger power, and I don't think piston rings should wear with this rate. Could chromium come from something in the heavily pushed stock turbos, or is it certainly from piston rings?

Did you get both samples done by the same lab?

Does the lab specialise in reporting of automotive oils?

Did you get a baseline result of the 'fresh' oil?

The confusing thing is some oils contain Molybdenum, Titanium, Zinc, Chromium and other metallic additives. If the lab doesn't understand what the particular fluid chemistry baseline chemistry is, the results somewhat don't mean much unless you're a chemist with a good understanding of how certain engines perform..

Just had a second blackstone analysis done on my slightly less loaded n54 - 29K miles now - Car purchased 18months ago with 12K miles. Went to MHD-S1 immediately. Never taken above 2000 rpm until 170degrees oil temp.

Been a custom tune (93 octane and consistently in the 16psi/6degree range) since about 10/4/17 and 16K miles. still OEM downpipes.

I had about half liqui moly and motul 8100 in this sample and LL1 in first. It now has Liquimolly only in it now and I will likely go back to straight 8100. It seems to have slightly lower oil temps. The motor doesnt use any oil but has slightly high iron.

I would say yours is likely from rings. Blackstone says just keep doing what Im doing.
