Thanks guys, stupid me bought some oil and topped it up myself in the end. Wish I had registered on the forum earlier.
I think I will check my paperwork for the inspection sheet and see if it's been signed off as checked! |

Rybrook - Warwick - Car was in yesterday for front and rear discs and pads, I easily negotiated a good price for the work and the car was done quickly and arrived back in as presented condition. They had the oil topped up approx 1/2 Litre for free whilst it was in as well without it even being mentioned.
Again great service as always and will continue to use them. |

BMW Tamworth. Brought our 320 D earlier this year and all I can say is as far as salesmen and women go, Russell is a top man. No BS talk. No pressure sales. Transparent with everything. Funny and quirky kind of guy. Even a man of his word. Said he would refund the cost of Connected Drive and we received a cheque from BMW a week later. Had a warranty issue come up in the first week and traveled from London to Tamworth - full tank of diesel provided by them for the trouble. Technician did an excellent repair. Since our visit they have moved to a new premises and we have been back once for another warranty issue. It has to be the best dealership I have ever come across. You have to visit to see what I mean. Drive in service, creature comforts, massive showroom and, the shopping / eateries near by are not half bad.

Had my car booked in (a week prior) for its MOT this morning and was going to wait for it to be done. Had a call yesterday to say there were two outstanding product enhancements/recalls 1. Was a replacement of the brake servo. 2. Was a replacement of the battery wiring loom. and they would need the car for more than was acceptable to wait. So wanted to see if I wanted the MOT and make a second booking for the enhancements. I asked if it could all be done in one go today and even though the workshop was booked up they managed to call back saying it wouldn't be a problem. Car went in at 8:30am and was all done ready for collection at 1:40pm Again excellent customer service/care and I still can't fault them.

Dealer 1: Coopers Reading BMW - bought an ex demo top of the range motorbike from them.
The numberplate fell off on the way home. Went back to the dealership and they said it was my fault it fell of due to my riding! I literally just rode home... Had to argue to get them to replace it and they did eventually as a 'courtesy gesture' but said they wouldn't if it happened again! Not impressed. Garage #2 Oxford BMW: Had brake servo fail 3 times on the bike. They didn't assure me enough they had fixed the issue. Sold the motorbike. I now avoid dealerships like the plague. |

Car went in last Saturday for a full oil service (major - oil, filters, microfilter & spark plugs) with an additional aircon service. Dropped the car off at 8:30 with a call at 1:30 to say it was ready I paid slightly under the advertised BMW value service rate for the oil service and had an offer for the aircon so did well even though it was an expected bigish hit but felt reasonably good value considering. Got the car back and as expected with the full major oil service it was noticeably smoother and responsive on the throttle. The aircon service has made it cooler and the whole system was freshened up with a lemony smelling antibac which is noticeable but pleasant and not overpowering. Again I'm impressed with Rybrooks continued level of an honest approach to servicing and both customer service/care.

Most Main dealers have Apprentices carrying out the majority of the work and the youngens seem to read off a instruction Manual for example ISTA it asks you questions and tell you what to do. The Old experienced engineers at dealerships are very rare now days.

Another excellent recommendation from me for Rybrook in Shrewsbury - Excellent service from there when purchasing my car + sorted out any post-sale issues without any trouble at all.
Salesperson John Owen looked after me from start to finish, was not pushy at all and I asked LOTS of questions! I just wish I lived closer to the Rybrook dealership to get my servicing done there. |

A trip to my trusted dealership but this time for a completely different reason (not servicing or parts). My car was booked into the body shop following a bird strike which broke my centre lower bumper grille. It was a full bumper off operation to replace so had to be booked in. As per servicing the booking in was painless and easy. The grille was ordered and arrived in the next day and the fitting was sorted as soon as I could get there. As a BMW car club member I received the usual discount on both parts and labour which bought the whole job down for both the part and labour to below the usual charged full labour rate for the same job. In all the fitting took 1hr 30mins and car was given back as received with no issues what so ever I waited at the dealership whilst it was being done and was looked after with regular updates and as many hot drinks I could drink. I did pass so of the time enquiring about a possible change of car and again no pressure just happy to help and got some good advice and things for thought with the promise of when treads they will do their best to find my next BM. Great experience with no issues at all and still a happy customer who feels valued and taken care of.

Bought my E91 from Ocean in Plymouth. Live in Truro, so it is more convenient for me to take the car to their Falmouth dealership for work. Had a few warranty issues, which took some persuasion for Falmouth branch (along with numerous calls to the Plymouth branch) to rectify. In addition, their service department tried to charge me £100 more than quoted, whilst taking more than 3 1/2 hours for an oil and filter service! Suffice to say, I have been less than impressed with the service from Ocean Falmouth.
Indicator came on for rear pads to be changed. After phoning a number of local BMW specialists/ garages, BMW value servicing was as cheap, so I took the plunge and ventured across the Tamar to the Plymouth dealership. The treatment I received there couldn't have been further from that at Falmouth. Mechanic looked at my brakes and saw that there was more and 6mm left on them, negating the requirement for a change. They reset my service computer and have booked my car in for some warranty work required for the boot struts. Honestly expected to be told my discs needed changing too and was bracing myself to stump up for the lot, but instead went away with money in my pocket and a smile on my face. Long story short, any future dealership visits will be planned to tie in with a shopping trip with the Mrs and a trip to the Big City. |

Stratstone BMW - Tyneside Silverlink. Either they've been closed for the past 10 days or they've had their phones disconnected !
I've had parts from them before, I normally just pop in and order them, ring a few days later to check they are in stock then drive over and collect them. For nearly 2 weeks I've been trying to ring them to order inlet gaskets / OFHG etc so I can do the work over the holidays, nobody is even picking the phones up so I've given up. This is the first time my phone ever "rang out", it eventually stopped ringing and showed "Number unobtainable". LLoyd BMW Newcastle. I rang them 4pm Wednesday, ordered the parts no problem, got told their usual "next-day" parts delivery might be a delayed as it's Christmas week. Fair enough. They sent a text 3pm Thursday to say the parts were now in stock, collect anytime. A mate runs a car repair place a couple of miles from Stratstone Silverlink, I called in to see him today (after a big detour to Lloyds), got told he always gets BMW parts from Lloyds as Stratstone are *****. Guess where I'm spending my money in future !

Rybrook Warwick : (A few weeks ago late posting this update)
Rang them following hearing about the mass recall for the heater connection (my battery cable was done under recall last year) Car was booked in they inspected to find the coupling was melted and unsafe . Car was impounded under H&S and I was taken to a local enterprise and given a hire car (at BMWs expense) until the parts were received from Germany. I did not get a date when the parts were expected in just we will be in touch. I had the hire car for two weeks in that time I called BMW customers met service who also could not provide a date for parts arriving, then I had a call parts were in and bring the hire car back and pick yours up. Everything was all sorted car was returned exactly as left and tbf to Rybrook under immense pressure from the sheer volume of recalls in they remained very helpful and not once did I think I was being let down. Seems they are doing this recall thing a lot better than a lot of others out there by the posts on the big recall thread.
