Snow tire question
So this is a kinda generic question but I know there are some tire experts here... anyway, what are the current options for asymmetrical (i.e., non-directional) snow tires that come in relatively low profile 255/35R18.
It seems there are fewer non-directional snow's available than there were last time I was on the market for them. Although at that time I was running square setup, so only consideration was 4 position rotation vs 2. But now I was gonna do a staggered setup, so I need a non-directional tire to even get 2 position rotation... I found a couple of non-direction / asymmetrical snow tires (e.g., Dunlop Winter Maxx) but it's not offered in the size. 255/ 25 18 size. You'd think it would be easy to search for this online, but the fact is so many sites have redesigned for nose-picker phone based UI (as well as stupid users) that you populating a couple boxes of size info and "snow tire" category" seems to have been made needlessly complicated, or else the search results are "smarter than you" and show up with A/S tires because, you know, that's what I really wanted when I searched for "snow tires". |

if this is for typical e90 18” staggered sport wheels you might want to try 235/45/18 front and 255/40/18 rear to get a new set of choices. Fits fine, fixed speedo error. Looks better.
BTW symmetry and directionality are independent so there are four possible combinations of which three are common. |
