How do I know if there is a misfire?
I found my n52 isn't totally butter smooth during long idle, it seems to shake mildly once in a while. Is that a misfire? How do I know if there is one? There is no light on the dash.

I have the exact same thing and would love to hear what others suggest. I've cleaned the MAF sensor and replaced all 6 plugs already but the issue still happens once in a while.

Mine has an ever so slight rough idle, and I am still struggling to trace the cause of the pinging issue. But in trying to throw new parts at the problem, fitted a new MAF some months ago and made little to no difference to this. If you do suspect the MAF, easy, just disconnect and see what the engine does. You will get a stored error code when doing this, but no big deal.
I am going to continue my efforts to sort this thing out in the coming weeks. Cannot tolerate the pinging and other driveability issues any longer - has to get sorted or go now. |
