PE+ 2nd Cat delete

I've been looking around and haven't found a definite answer for the 32x's.

Does any body have the OEM PE and then deleted their secondary cats?

Reason why I ask is I drive my e90 daily 150-300 miles and the PE has settled in and I only get noise in the cabin at 2200-3k and its more of a drone. So my guess was if I delete the secondary cats I get a little more rasp inside but I don't want it to be "RICED" on the exterior either.

So any input is welcome. Thanks

I've got this combo and would have to say you won't regret it.

I found the PE by itself to be too quiet, but w/ the 2ndary delete it's just right for me. The only thing that I dislike is the cold-start, its a little too loud for me in the morning. That drone between 2200-3000 isn't really an issue unless I'm going uphill and just hovering there, and even then it's much more tolerable than muffler deletes. I wouldn't classify the additional sound as "more raspy", definitely louder (mildly) and more pop/gurgle when downshifting + falling rpm.

I just had my 2ndarys cut off and replaced with pipe but I believe others have gotten the AFE pipes to replace that entire section (from header to PE). I may consider doing this in the future as well to make it "cleaner".

Now, should I delete one and see if it's worth going for the other one or going back to both

Do you mean deleting just one 2ndary cat? I would do both at the same time, it's not a night and day difference, but just enough to make me happy.

Yes, secondary are cool and no emission issues even with resonator delete as well,I'm pretty sure primary are emission troubles, however if your ok with that and enjoy a good sportier sound then be my guest

I'm more concerned about the interior noise level, that sounds fantastic however on the exterior

It sucks, I wouldn't want my wife driving the car. I'll add a 12" vibrant resonator for the sake of reducing drone while hoping to NOT lose that nice exterior sound.
12" as opposed to 6" because the resonator will massage the exhaust longer.

So better to stick my stock resonator in with the PE?

Wait another week til I get this resonator in. I'd rather not have ANY OEM parts put back on the car because I think it's restricting airflow. I'd rather have a straight perforated pipe that only reduces drone while keeping the sound we want.

Delete the secondaries, my friend did it and he has a BMW PE. The sound difference was subtle but wasn't to loud and Route 16's setup isn't BMW PE, stupid Jason

I have PE + AFE, its fantastic, more power and sound. a little drone under 2400rpm, but it wont bother most drone sensitive driver.

Do you have any highway drone inside of the cabin around the mid range? 2k to 3k?
