Bavsound Stage One for base upgrade worth it?

Has anyone done this upgrade to their base system? It's pretty cheap and was wondering how much of a difference it made.

You are not going to get a big difference with the base system
without adding and amp or amp/dsp.
(and better speakers to)

Or are you saying you have HiFi already (you mentioned 'base' but perhaps just meant 'bass')?

ctuna gonna do it if I don't anyway, so start with this thread:https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641323

You'll see in the first few posts it tells you about your base audio system and then it goes a little into what it takes to upgrade it. I've simplified it in my earlier post, but you'll need to buy the harness kit (different types depending on your goal), possibly code to HIFI audio, amp and possibly tweeters and door sails if you so choose to add.

Thanks, I looked at the Alpine kit option. So for $464 I can get a worthwhile upgrade? Not bad

Any other options keeping the budget < $600?

From my understanding, I can get a decent upgrade with the following

-upgraded front component speakers (bsw, mb quart, etc)
-amp (alpine ,etc)
-technic harness

Hard to keep it under 1k unless you are dumpster diving.
Even then 1500 is more typical.(for parts alone)

Technic Harness a must.
Scrounge around for a 6 channel amp that accepts
5 volt differential inputs.
Almost all the BMW compatible speaker sets are from
300 to 700 bucks.
I think the lowest Technic got it was around 750.
Some of the stuff he used no longer exists.

Here is my thread from late 2015. Under $600 with the MB Quart speaker system, Alpine amp, technic hardness and other parts here and there. Sounds way better than the base stereo.

Too bad the MB Quart are discontinued. I think they're on ebay though but around $400

I've decided to go with Alpine kit + subs

Alpine kit - $420
Tweeter housing - $50
earthquake subs - $200

And just to confirm, the HU doesn't need to be coded for HiFi since I have lci idrive correct?
