Evening gents
So my 335i has been diagnosed with the age old carbon buildup issue (amazing these engines have it, its like going back to the 80s!) First off if anyone else wants this done soonish add your name to the list: 1) infidel82 - confirmed 2) NiVeDh - confirmed 3)iwanna335 (todd)- confirmed 4)gdkalyanapu - confirmed 5)DeltaSAM 6)Akopley 7)skybox 9)DKNYATLANTA Secondly when we have some numbers: Option 1: Group buy (cheaper plus I find the work is of a generally better quality) Option 2: Have a go. I havent got a Bentley manual yet but if anyone can see if the manifold coming off looks reasonable, I'm sure we can get a compressor, dispenser and medium as a bulk buy and it would still be a million times cheaper than BMW. 1) infidel82 2) NiVeDh Count me in. I think DIY will be fun. The manifold is easy to take off. I have the Bentley manual as well. |

I'd come hang out. I only have 37K miles on my 335i so I don't think its absolutely necessary.
I just removed the intake manifold and head off my e36 M3 and its more similar to the 335i than you would think. Curious to see if I'm right. If it looks easy enough I may give it a go now. |

OK there is a provisional plan
Who: volkswackin & Co worker (who are experienced mechanics) When: Weekend of 14th April (either sat or sun) Cost: 325 per vehicle cash or paypal/card. What: Cleaning with walnut and chemicals of the intake valves Risk: I would say very little but I will defer to volkswackin's judgement Where: Atlanta area.Exact location to be decided. Equipment and Tools: Volkswackin has the medium (walnut) chemicals and tools, but will require a decent compressor. If anyone has one please contact him to check suitability. If this is acceptable please say IM IN! And I will update the list at the top of the page by putting your name in BOLD. Any questions fire away...

Who is volkswackin & Co? Do they specialize in or even work on BMW's? Although this person/people will be doing most of the work we are still adding to this as a DIY so seems pricey but what do I know?!?!

I don't mean to steal this thread. But as a local shop here in Atlanta, GA that specialize in BMW. We can do the B&G treatment including new OEM manifold gasket with labor for $ 280.00 no need for group buy. Call the shop 404-910-5211 or email us Info@solomotorsports for app.

Boris - I have used this product before and I agree with threadkiller it is a great product, but its not as good as a physical lean. For those who do not know B&G create a chemical cleaining solution that is "injected" into the air intake and helps break down carbon deposits.
