N52 Coding from 328 to 330

Hello Everyone.

I'm looking to pick up a 3 stage intake manifold for the E91. I've also downloaded all the free software for the DME flash and bought the Bimmergeeks cable.

I've watched the how to videos, but I'm still wary of pulling the trigger on the software upgrade in case I mess something up.

Wondering in someone in S Alberta has done it and would be able to walk me through it.

I'm in North Calgary. I've not done this before, but after looking at some of the info, it seems the wife's 330 may be getting a Bimmerlabs tune in the next little while. Then, I WILL have done it before.

It's pretty easy and hard to mess up. Just have a good battery charge or connected charger during the process.

I did it!
Followed this video step by step and had no issues! I used a 15Amp charger just to be safe.

Well, not much different than stock, but I don't have the 3 stage manifold installed yet

Some improvement even without the 3S manifold is a good sign.

I got an NFRM working in the wife's '06 330 tonight. Was going to do the bimmerlabs tune on it, but the site is having problems it seems.

For whatever reason Tool32 wouldn't write the full VIN, only the last 7 digits. Eventually I just programmed the things with the car's VO using NCS Expert, and the VIN was suddenly correct. Switched DRL from highs to AE and the wife is happy.

I've not tried flashing the DME yet.

update:
The E-bay manifold came in the mail. One of the DISA valves doesn't seem to work. Fortunely, it's the large one on the oustide of the manfiold, so I ordered an cheapo on Amazon for $60. Hopefully it works, if not I'll have to go OEM

I put a pair of cheap ones on the wifes car ~18 months ago and I think they're still working fine.

FYI: The inner DISA can be changed without removing the intake manifold. Move the alternator out of the way and you can get it out.

Finally installed the manifold today.

Great bang for the buck mod. Gives the car more pep.
