BUT don't do me, just find the matching stock file and DONE!

Diedvdijk - Just look at your project page. It should list your available stock files. Don't worry exactly which version you had before. Hass has already done the grunt work, and usually has a few stock variants to try. I would pick the newest version first. See below for an example on my car:

https://ibb.co/1RprVsW
He,

I checked my project and it says:

"There are 358 stock files available for your project N52 E85 30i:
Note: for the E36, E39, E46, E53, E83, & E85, you will see every ZB# for your chassis / DME - not just for your specific model. This will improve as we add more information to our database."

So 358 files.. Not as shown in your example only four. Which one should I try. They cannot all be stock files for my vehicle. How abouw 901, 911, 921 in the discription.

It's because BMW didn't do a great job with the Z4 tracking the different software variants. The E46 has the same issue. You can usually find the right ZB# using the ETK (realoem.com etc).

921S etc. is the program version.

I checked this numbers before, since I thought it was that easy just flashing a 3.0si file to the stock hardware and recode the keys and it worked. Later on I find out by this tread its a bit more complex with powerclass checksums etc.

Realoem tells me (latest avaiable):
01 Exch. control unit DME programmed MSV70 1 10/2006 12147573412 $1216.70

But this file coresponds to: MSV70 0049PP0L912S0YC4S 963B3058
Can I use the RSA key file with this 912 program version? What does program version even mean?

For the E85, I found the MSV70.HIS and the hardware file more informative. I can pull the correct files later tonight. I'm pretty sure I have them somewhere.

Realoem is out of date and will direct you to an old ZB

For the E85/N52, (2006-2008) there is only one 921 based 0DA file for each engine and country variant. So it's not too hard.

US 3.0I
US 3.0 SI (E85/E86)
Eu 2.5 i
EU 2.5SI

Well thank you for your work then, hope you are able to find the right files.

Currently I have the 921S (MSV70_S7581341_Z4_30i_to_30si.0da) program variant running my car.
When I will match the stock file with my current installed RSA key opa.file MSV70_RSADelete_0049PP0L921S.0pa I think the stock files should be a 921S program? Just to keep the current RSA .0pa file.
Original my car had the 901S program, and via Realoem I find a 912S file.

901S is old. *really* old. Basically, I only support the newest firmware versions. There's no real reason to use old ones.

I can update my database with the information from rjahl's post, then you will only see those ZB#s for 921S.

Ah I do understand. So yes maybe for other Z4 drivers this will help in the future. For now its fine, I can choose the right one with the help of the Excel table. For my understanding I need to flash:

7577968A.0pa.zip 7623581 ( S7623582.0da.zip / S7623582.0da / S7623582.0da.bin )

The software ID 0049PP0L921S0YD3S is equal to my current MSV70_S7581341_Z4_30i_to_30si.0da file so I only need to flash the .0da files am I correct?

If you're flashing the 0pa I would just flash the RSA deleted one. Then you can go back and forth between stock and tunes after that.

I allready flased the RSA delete one. I am running the 265hp file right now. The only problem I have is the bad driving behavoir. Therefore I want to go back to the stock file. Since maybe its the file, and maybe the intake manifold. Which i allready checked ten times now. So I try to go back with the stock file.

So to go stock again I take the 0da file.

I am driving the stock file with 3-stage inlet right now. The problem I have with the tuned file is the bad driving behaivoir below 2000 RPM where the engine is shocking.

Where I feel a little bit strange, one of the files I attached tells me the car runs the 901S program, the other screenshot tells me 921S. That should be okay.

Well Why can't I just flash a Z4 3.0SI file US or Europe to the car? Will it work.

True, thats what i also noticed when i was searching for the upgrade. So the tune I had is the Z4 e85 3.0SI file with the 3.0I powerclass byte. But how is the Z4 driving so bad? Maybe do the same trick with the 3.0SI US file? Maybe the do some other changes as well? The US Z4 is also build in US. Maybe with some other hardware parts. What do you think @hassmaschine

If your car drives well with the stock tune, and the three stage tune you’re using has no changes other than the power class, my guess would be something is up with your DISA valves.

Other than the power class, there is literally no change to the tune compared to a stock 3.0si.

I totally agree on that. Well I will try to flash the file back to my car tomorrow. And somehow I will try to findout the correct working for my DISA valve's. I allready did the actuator test were both valve sounds the operate the right way.

Thereby, for my understanding the first DISA valve is operating above 2000RPM so sounds a bit strange for me.

I will keep you guys updated.

Sorry I am not saying your file is wrong, but just try to find out what cause is of my problem. Changing the maps is the easyest and best way to do that, since I checked the manifold allready for leaks and good operating.

I will also check the files myself, I find out ealier with the help of you guys where the powerclass byte is located. The only problem is the checksum and offcourse to pass the security checks. Were you guys did a great job.

Maybe if you can find some time, its a good idea to verify the files? And maybe change the powerclass in US 3.0is file so its still a US car? I you can tell me how to fix the checksum I am willing to try doing that myself. The hard work is done.

You can modify the power class yourself (or anything else really) and upload the file. Bimmerlabs will correct the checksum and generate an 0da that you can flash.

thanks -

OK, it's fixed. Try the new file. I can't test it myself since I don't have a Z4. Also, now you should see just the stock ZB#s for download, not all of the MSV70 files that exist.
