Sorry to hear about your car. Did you buy it back for part out?
Nice at least it's upgradeable, anyway I don't think I'll hit more than 600whp on pump gas for sure. Going to be a daily for a while.

Yeah It's sad to see her go. I didn't plan to buy it back, just get the money they give me and go and get another one.

Sorry bro, hate seeing an iS like that. But still less expensive than a new one, no?

My only worries was reliability and how much power it holds? I'd like to eventually 600whp single turbo when I'll have other cars. But from my research those look OK.

Aslo, does the DCT burple on upshifts?
DCT is really nice--engaging feeling and the trans can take 600whp no problem. I'd recommend a trans tune since it's really tuned to feel like an auto out of the box on the 335is. With the M-DCT GTS tune, totally different beast. XHP can probably mimic this fairly well, but I don't have personal experience with that. Burble on up shifts is fairly dependent on your engine/trans tune. A clean tune shouldn't really burble excessively but you'll get a quick pop on shifts, (especially down shifts, occasionally upshifts) depending on how you're driving. "Nice burble tune"- nobody, ever.

I've replaced the DCT trans once in 50k miles. Pushing 26-28psi on a 6466 with Meth PI. Car was launched in a past life, had the world record for N54 1/4 on stock turbos back in 2014 or so--I suspect this had a significant impact.

Nah man that thing's pretty much done for. Anything is FIXABLE yes but look at how the trunk and quarter no longer line up. Gonna have to cut and replace 1/4 of the car and still pull/adjust the rest of it into proper alignment. Not to mention everything in the rear suspension is probably done for, and depending on his subframe mounts could have transferred energy into those points and damaged them. No way that'll be done properly for less than $25k.

Yeah but insurance deemed it total loss. Estimate was about 15 000$ (CAD currency) + 2000$ for potential hidden damages (like frame stuff)

Anyone has carbon fiber trim on their DCT 335is shifter or baseplate? I want to do a carbon fiber accented interior build and I'm not sure if our shifter can use the carbon fiber stuff for the F30 shifters ebay has?

If not, then there isn't much selection eh? I guess I will have to wrap this part?

DCT bit me in the ass this weekend causing a false knock at the Shift sector half mile.
Upgrading my Flywheel ASAP.

What tire pressure are yall running?

The door panel says 39f/46r. Is this only for the oem 19" rft's?

I've replaced the rft's long ago but have kept the psi the same. I hear some people do 32/35.

I run 45psi rear and 42 psi front but that's mainly because I want to avoid cracking rims.

Door panel and manual information is going to be specific to the tire size and rim.

Nice bro, what are the specs and what are you going to take it to in terms of mods?

Thanks it's a 2011 DCT, right now I'm on MHD Stage 1 and xHP stage 3.

Plan to get it to the same level as the other so Stage2+ for now. Until I upgrade turbos maybe one day

Nice! The DCT is a lot of fun. IDK, how many miles are on it but if you want to treat it good I would change the fluid and filters ASAP to keep it in good health.

Yeah I really like the DCT. It's definitely different but when you drive it always in manual mode it's kinda like having a manual transmission but faster. And especially paired with xHP best of both worlds! Can't wait to try out stage2+ with this setup and see my time. And the NOISE oh my, I just love the upshift noises paired with MHD burples it's just perfect for me. And all that on a stock exahust police can't do anything it's amazing.

I also do not believe in the "lifetime" mentality. My DCT pan is also leaky/grimmy so I think I'll also change the pan along with gasket. I'm at 90K miles.

Do you change both filters? I noticed some service kits only have the cylinder filter but I see there's also a filter inside the pan to?

If you just want to puts around town in Auto just click the sport button and it will still be a little more fun but with Auto shifts.

As soon as I bought my car I took it to the shop and had I think three filters changed as well as the fluid but they had to drop the trans down to do so it was a big job. Pretty sure just changing the bottom filter and fluid will be fine.
"Lifetime" to BMW means 100K.
