Question: Why "Concert Hall" not "Theater"? I have those subjective terms... I wish it was just "Stereo" or "Surround".
I'm a total, utter noob about E90s, but I've been thinking about this, and my thoughts so far are: "Theater" (or "Cinema" on my non-iDrive E90) is probably tailored more for center-focused speech-heavy stuff like what might come out of a DVD player, for instance. (Podcasts, perhaps??)

"Concert Hall" (or, on mine, "Music" haha) is better suited for wider stuff that should be less colored by the space it's in. That's what mine seems to do...take out some of the coloring of the car's interior, among other things.

I find "Cinema" to center and almost box the sound in, as if you're in a movie theater. I don't have a DVD player in my car, but some E90 owners do indeed!

Seeing as Logic 7 is the same DSP tech that's in some 7.1 home theater systems, with some of the same settings carried over, having a Theater setting makes sense.

I'm probably wrong about 100% of this.

I don't have the LOGIC7 setup, but I tried the first settings in my aftermarket radio and they made a world of difference to the stock setup.

Great job

First, I appreciate all the info provided in this thread. As a previous owner of 2 5 series and a 6 series, I must say I'm really enjoying this 335i.
Regarding the settings, I initially used an iPod with the cable and found the initial settings in this tread to work great. Since I moved to an iPhone XR, the connection shows my phone as "not supported". I worked with Apple and BMW but basically chalked it up to newer technology not supporting older technology. Since I decided to go with the Air Enabler, I chose these settings and I must say, they have brought my stock system alive. I"m an olderl guy and still love my music so I've got stuff from the 60's to today and a wide range of genre. I will say if you want to know if your system is really reproducing bass, even though you think you can't get enough, the song "The Embrace" from Al Dimeola's "Kiss My Axe" will give you the results you are looking for. If you are not familiar with the song, there are thunderous bass notes in the song that I believe to be kettle drums. Anyway, thanks again for loving the music and all the feedback that users like me were able to find on this website.

Air Enabler

These are the settings I was referring too!!

So, I reinstalled the Fiio E17, which I thought initially was defective due to some crackling but realized that it, too, couldn't handle the 95% volume output level I had set in the AirEnabler (with default setting being 60%).

So...I dropped the volume of the AirEnabler down to 85% and bumped up the volume of the Fiio to 58/60...perfect! No distortion and all source levels much closer to being matched. And...the Fiio sounds MUCH better than the Sound Blaster (I originally used) and the Dragonfly...better clarity, soundstage/separation, and detail, especially once I reloaded all CD's into iTunes using Apple Lossless encoding.

But, the point of this post is: With the Fiio and the BavSound Stage One Speaker Upgrade (which is great!), I redid the Spectrum Analyzation...three times on three different days...using an external mic (iPhone as source, iPad mini with mic as monitor) and got a VERY different equalization pattern, something I would not have guessed (see below).

And every genre of music I listen to (from classical to jazz to heavy rock) sounds good and accurate, with only sub adjustments being required (using LPL44 external sub control with my PG xs2500 amp).

Also, the Fiio has BALANCE controls so I was able to adjust the balance to center without using the L7 balance, the latter tending to ruin the soundstage. The Fiio balance adjustment (+4 to Right) was perfect and the soundstage is great.

So...here are my EQ settings with this setup (AirEnabler, Fiio E17, BavSound Staqe One, stock L7 amp and rear speakers and underseat woofers), using AUX input and THEATER Surround setting, not Concert.

Attachment 1142330
Attachment 1142331
Attachment 1142332

Although the 200hz adjustment seemed weird to me at first, it now makes sense knowing we have 4" mids and 8" woofers as stock sizes in the L7 system.

I'd use the E90 settings and adjust the fader to -4 or -5, and tweak the rest of the settings to your preference if that's even necessary

Why -4 or -5 for fader? The recommended here is +2, would you not go higher for wagon?

Fader makes the sound go from front to back, I personally use -4 fader in my E90 because I prefer the sound to float around me than be in front of me. The E91 has more space so in my opinion it makes sense that the fader is set lower

It sounds like maybe you're saying that lower=rear. It's actually the opposite. Positive (higher) is more rearwards. So in that case I would agree with you 🙃

I've read a few other places that - be to the rear and + being to the front idk

What logic7 EQ settings would you recommend for E92 non i-drive, for ppl who like bass?
First post settings seems to be with bass only at high volume.

Update:
I decided to use these settings which gives a little bit more but still reasonable amount of bass (E92 NON I-DRIVE):
80hz 0
200hz 0
500hz +2
1khz +2
2khz -3
5khz -1
10khz +4

BASS +5
TREB +1
FADER +2
LOGIC7 = MUSIC
So far I like it, suggest your settings.

E91 drivers I'd start with the settings for the E90 and just keep tweaking it until you like it, everything's trial and error

OMG! I realized that if you set to LOGIC7 to MUSIC for some reason it cuts off rear speakers slightly sometimes! I thought I have bad connection to speaker or bad AMP! Now the question is how to use MUSIC mode without that annoying rear speaker cut off?
