Does this car have bluetooth?
I have a 2010 335i that appears to have Bluetooth telephone options on the idrive display, but I cannot get anything to work.
The build sheet for my car shows these options for multimedia; S639 Preparation f mobile phone cpl. USA/CDN S6AA BMW TeleServices S697 Area-Code 1 for DVD S620 Voice control S6FL USB/audio interface S693 Preparation BMW satellite radio S6UH Traffic Information S609 Navigation system Professional S645 BMW US Radio S6AB Control, Teleservices S615 Extended BMW Online Information There is a TCU 1.5 MOST module in the back of the car. I have swapped in other TCU MOST modules and still cannot get any Bluetooth options to work. The car also has the SOS with a line through it on the display, so not sure if the two issues are related. I did have the FRM die and recently replaced it. There is a small possibility if the car did have working Bluetooth I overwrote the VO back to stock, but not likely. Any guidance on how to get Bluetooth phone capability on this car? |

Bluetooth what ? Telephone or music streaming or both.
You can get factory bluetooth telephone but no streaming music unless you have idrive the proper level of idrive with a combox. TCU supports SOS and bluetooth telephone only . Combox which includes streaming if you have idrive. I think bluetooth music streaming is option 6vc. It's possible someone else installed some of this stuff did coding only but didn't update the VO in which case reloading the VO might not enable some things. OK. 2 more questions.
What is the module under where the TCU is mounted? I have a 2011 328i parts car that (I think) has a combox in it. Would I be better off retrofitting this than messing with TCU MOST unit? |

So, I had a lightbulb moment while reading about Combox retrofit. There is a Most bus cable under the driver side pedal cover piece. Person I got car from had taken those panels off and I remember seeing a red light come on when I opened the door. In reading fiber ring doesn't work correctly when there is an open, it clicked my car did have an open connector. I plugged it in to back side of panel and bluetooth and SOS systems are working again.

Good job though it was painful.
If you have idrive and combox check out if you have streaming . If you don't you could add it with programming most likely. |

Combox is installed in a 328i parts car, so not retrofit into my 335i.
My 335i does not have bluetooth streaming capability. |
