Where does AUX cable run to with Logic 7 amp/MULF/Professional Radio

I am planning to wire this bluetooth receiver into my car in order to *almost* natively play music over bluetooth (i.e. no dongles and cables etc.)

I plan to cut the AUX cable and wire it into the bluetooth receiver (when no bluetooth is connected it automatically reverts to AUX, but when bluetooth is connected it automatically ignores any AUX connections).

Does anyone know if the cable runs backwards from the armrest to the amp or forward to the head unit (I have professional radio not idrive)? I'd prefer not to have to take out the center console in order to splice in.

Thanks!

It depends on what options you have installed . If you have usb
the 6fl option it comes from the Mulf 2 Hi unit . It can some times
come from the back of the idrive in early builds .
Never runs to the amp.

By the way the Aux will degrade the signal you hope to up grade.

There are a lot of discussions of what people have done to try to squeeze
some fidelity out of the aux in the above thread.
The basic conclusion is that usb is always better.

You can look up the schematic in the above link to a block level.

Thanks. Agree re sound quality, but it's my only choice really as I don't have USB and don't want to invest the time/money to upgrade the MULF and then run a new AUX/USB cable. I've been using Bluetooth receivers since getting my car and have mostly been happy, but I want to declutter the arm rest.

Go to page one on the above document.

The above box is around 150 us . It gives you usb sd card playback plus
streaming music and phone and another aux.
This is like a cheap Dension.

I have one of these and playback from the usb is as good as the cd player.
The bluetooth streaming isn't to bad but I don't think it's aptex.
