I'm using Buraq's two step process. Check out his thread about it, if you can find it. It basically launches you at around 2.5k rpm. Launch control at 5k is useless even stock.

Side by Side Comparison

Here is a comparsion of Lufti and BuraQ's times in 1/4 miles. I chose my first run for the comparison as it was the closest to Lufti's best time.

The low time and low trap is a result of the fast shifting trans and the gearing. Just like a similary equipped xi and i will run differently - the i will have a higher et and faster trap and the xi a lower et and slower trap. It has nothing to do with the quality of a tune in this case. Unfortunately this will be viewed as "hate" instead of some people just learning more about racing at the track. For those who take it as a learning experience +1 and for the others sorry you let fanboism or w/e it is get in the way of learning something new.

I think the only comparison made on this post is DCT vs DCT....

It was a generalization for the DCT to non DCT trans. For example - a 335i 6mt wont go that quick without a high trap speed and a decent amount of mods because of human intervention ("slow" shifting and gears that are too tall for our setups from the factory) compared to a car with agressive gearing and lightning fast shifts. I LOVE my 6mt but would love to get a 6AT rear and LSD to pair with it. I love the times the DCT's put out and would probably get that well before I got a normal AT but I do love 6mt It wasn't meant to upset anyone. Just shed light for even just one person

That is definitely a great 1/4 for the mods but, as pointed out above, the time is due to DCT. It's incredible to think you're just a few $ away from 11's and you might be able to do it without LSD or DR's.

I think it would also be interesting to compare the dollars spent & see dyno runs to get to the 12.2 point by these cars & what the ultimate goals are. My goal is to be quicker then a factory 335is & be able to give a good account against an occasional Mustang or Camaro. I ran a few 0-80 dead heats with a claimed lightly moded 2011 SS with 6MT & headers/intake for sure. From the outside my car is pretty much a sleeper with an old guy driving which suits me just fine.

The small Burger Motor Sports decals in the rear quarter windows are the only indication of extra performance on the car. Don’t think even 90% of the 3 series owner even have a clue as to what BMS is since they still ask me what an “IS” is. Had one 5 series guy ask me it I was piggy back or flashed when I was at the 100 octane pump getting gas.

In my case I hope to get to Rockingham for some runs in a few weeks with a goal of 12.5 if lucky. Regardless I don't expect to go any further then the JB4 & FMIC. Have spent $505 for the JB4 & USB adaptor + $750 for the FMIC or $1255 all in for new equipment which is performing very well.

Huh ? Thats it, no trying to break 11s, no plans of turbo upgrades ?

Nope, that’s all there will be - been there, done that, got a lot of tee shirts over the years when I lived just down the road from Englishtown Raceway Park. If 11 second bragging rights were important to me would have just bought a Z06 or GTR instead of the 335is. Just looking to have a nice comfy semi-sleeper that can take care of itself at a traffic light. Most likely would have gotten the FMIC no matter what I did to the motor because turbos really suffer in the heat.

Also, not really interested in spending weekends making 160 mile round trips to the drag strip. Too much other fun stuff to do.

I'm pretty sure 11's are very doable with just the Jb4. With a better 60' and maybe race gas. I was sending my logs to Terry, and he seems to think there is a lot of room to grow in there. Would be kinda crazy to have an 11 second car for 500 bucks
