Would it be a bad Idea to...

I'm looking at getting some aftermarket wheels and also tires for my car. As I'm not rich I'm hoping to find a wheel that is low-pressure cast, since that seems to be an okay price-performance level without jumping into the 2k range for wheels.

I'm actually looking at these wheels, https://www.carid.com/drag-concepts-...-45874337.html. I put a word into carID's wheels specialist to find out the manufacturing process used.

Anyways, forward to my question, would it be a bad idea to spray extra layers of clear coat onto new wheels as soon as you get them?

I'm asking because I see that many people have paint chipping problems on cheap/inexpensive wheels.

Thank you!

While I dont particularly like the type of wheel chosen (too much going on), spraying coats of clear coat should help with protection.

okay, so really it's not a dumb thing to do, though I doubt most would consider it. With the wheel I linked, I dunno if it would work out anyways since it sort of has two levels of flare and getting the back part would be troublesome.
