E46's are like buses
Joined the M5 for the cruise home tonight and tucked in behind a Silver Grey 330d. We cruised for a while until coming up behind a Silver Grey 320d, who then sped up to join formation.
It was almost like a mini UK1, but with three Silver Grey E46's in close formation. I almost wanted to keep going when I reached my junction

There's a TiAg e90 that I sometimes see on my way to & from work, but I still haven't found out where it's from. There's a lot more e90s & e91s I see along the A1 & A19 around Teesside. The 'convoy' feeling is great! Viv |

When I had my jet black E46, I used to see exactly the same model coming the other way every day. Many times I thought about giving the driver a wave, but he would probably think I was a bit of a berk. So many BMW drivers aren't interested in the car per se, just the badge.
Obviously that doesn't apply to anyone on here (as this is an enthusiast's site!) BTW - Viv - sorry if I appear thick but what is a "TiAg" E90? Cheers Phil |

Glad you asked that question - was beginning to feel very thick. I thought the Ti might be abbreviation for Titanium (as in silver!) but struggle with the Ag!

You are quite right. It is very refreshing to know there are fellow BMW ethusiasts out there who truly appreciate the car. There is a lot of stigma out there regarding "some" BMW drivers and I am already getting stick, before I've even got the car ... I need to learn to cut people up Get really close behind other cars bumpers NOT to wave people out of junctions etc ahead of me Speed down the fast last on motorways ha ha ha I just laugh it off |

The typical BMW driver myth is just that - a myth. I feel that quite often they are now driven by proper enthusiasts who like well engineered, well performing, well handling cars. Sure the brand name has kudos too, but if you're into brand only, you'll probably end up in an Audi, Merc or maybe even a Saab(?). The aspirational types who gave the brand a bad name, now drive Audi TT's!! |

If paddywac comes to the meet, I'm sure he'll provide an in-depth masterclass of 'BMW etiquette'! Blocking 3 lanes of the M1 with e90s is a nice sight to see! Viv |

For the last meet, myself, Floyd, Paul (1stnewcar) & Craig (Flyingdwarf) all convoyed down to Donington, along the A1 & M1, stopped off at one of the services & carried on. I think we all had a great time driving along together. Seeing other e90s & being part of the moving convoy was a great feeling. I'm looking forward to doing it again. If anyone else wants to join us, then feel free. Viv |
