weird humming noise from turbos?

I'm getting this low frequency humming when i slightly press the gas pedal ( stationary/not driving). Maybe to describe it better it's more of a heavy/ deep air flow sound
it sounds like it could be the wastegate?

Any experience with such a thing?

stock or tuned? intake or stock filter?? need more info than that...

when i was stock and i modified my air box it would make a hollow thudding noise that went with the pistons... i liked it, but i could only really point it to be from the EGR opening an low throttle.. now that i am tuned my setup is still the same and the sound is gone..

i may have solved it... although not exactly sure why.

I adjusted the two locking nuts on the wastegate rod. I haven't heard this turbulant humming noise since I did this.

well after a few more days of driving, Its definetely this waste gate rod adjustment. I still have the humming but it's not as loud now and it doesn't hum and go away periodically on it's own. it's pretty much always humming but not as loud.

I have to find TDI's post... this will take hours

Not the wastegate you are referring. It’s the turbo switchover. Wastegate rod is hard to adjust.

I read that long ass fullfilling post of yours... I will have to use it as a guide to check over my vacuum stuff.

The long rod is for turbo switch over? I thought it was for the wastegate?

Waste gate rod is tucked between the large turbo snail halves--hard to reach and adjust as Yozh said. The one you can easily see and adjust with airbox removed is turbine switchover valve.
