The higher the rating, the worse the grip in snow. Lower than V-rated tyres would be better in snow but V is a good compromise and acceptable / works for me.

100% duty cycle on he solenoid means 12v at the solenoid. Which means full open. Which means max vacuum pulling the wastegates closed. Which means max boost. Phew...

OK, further clarified and what I thought it would be:

0 VDC to the Solenoid
Solenoid is Closed
Wastegate Open
No Boost

12 VDC to the solenoid
Solenoid Open
Wastegate Closed
Full Boost

I had a feeling, not having tested it, that this is how it should work. So, that if the a line broke/came off or the 12 VDC DC control to the solenoids was lost, you coluld not generate boost.

So that begs a questions, how much on/off throttle would it take to bleed off the vacuum in the resevoirs to not be able to sufficiently build boost.

I think you misunderstand how the factory boost control system works. See post #247.

I believe there is a dedicated vacuum pump that keeps the vacuums tank fully charged. I don't think we are dealing with a passive vacuum system relying on manifold vacuum and one-way check valves. We're a few steps beyond the Mazda FD3S rx-7 thank God Or did I miss what you were asking?

With that said, the wastegate actuator has a threaded rod. The adjustment of this can increase or decrease the wastegate response to command. I'll have to look at it again to get an idea of which way a turn would do what.

But IMO, I do not think the response is your issue based on sustained higher levels.

You were dead on. I was thinking they were relying on manifold vacuum. Glad to hear that is not the case.

I'm throwing in my WDS just to see if I can find anything.

I'll have to go double check the voltage. I've been measuring from the ECU side (pins 7 & 14) so if the back side is 12v then it would be the opposite. I assumed the back side was grounded.

FYI, there is a vacuum pump. From the WDS:

The high-pressure fuel pump is bolted onto the rear end of the vacuum pump. The drive shaft of the high-pressure fuel pump is connected to the drive shaft of the evacuating pump.

However, I am having a hard time finding any details as the Wiring system doesn't encompass the mechanicals that well. I guess it is time to invest in this car further.

Hi Shiv,

You got email ( latest v2.0.2ATbeta_11-26 test results ).

@all: Some progress has been made. Still not there to be able to roll it out, IMO. However, detailed data from my logging is available now . More from Shiv, when he will chime in.

I'll update more information over the weekend and will probably start a new thread. Hopefully it will remain on topic.

Thanks... There should be a way to lock threads to only certain users. It would still be public for reading, but not for posting. It would keep lots of drivel out of the good technical threads.

Although... I guess it would also eliminate some questions from people you didn't know... and cause several more threads to form... nevermind.
