£450 is very expensive, but the price Detailers charge varies so much and it isn't always the most expensive that gets you the best results. I had mine done a couple of months ago and he comes back every week (two weeks) to wash and wax my car, keeping it looking superb in between motorway journeys.....

Your car does look superb and a detail is always recommended especially on the darker colours (for initial effect).

Helen, I can put you in touch with the guy who does mine as he is Yorkshire based, drop me a pm if interested.

Jules.

I agree that the pricing varies a lot - some people/companies would charge £700 or £800, but given the amount of work needed to get my car to this stage (over 14 hours of solid detailing) I think £450 is a bargain!! His normal detail doesn't cost anywhere near that, probably only around half or thereabouts, but we had to wetsand and do serious amounts of machine polishing, hence the higher cost.

I've only had it fully detailed once, and that was almost two months ago. I just keep on top of it by basic washing and waxing, every other week. Paul was just in the area so he came over to use a much tougher bug & tar remover to get rid of the huge bug splats that were a result of our speedy trip to the 'Ring last weekend.

Excellent looking finish there Tony! Do you feel that the legendary 'BMW Orange Peel Paint Finish' is reduced now that it has been machine buffed?

Just wondering, in the performance brochure they show the rear calipers are painted yellow as well. Would BMW paint/replace the rear ones to match the front?

Again, your car is hot!

Hi TSL, the BMW Performance Brakes are available for the front and the rear now. We supply them through our shop or fully fitted at our facility. We have already helped a few people on here with them. We supply just the front kit for £693.69, just the rear kit for £555.43 (the rear kit is not available to order alone from BMW direct) or the complete front and rear kit for £1125.12:

I can vouch for Paul too. I've used him twice in the last year. Very professional and does a great job. See the pic of my E90 at http://www.shineondetail.com/Services. Superb!

I finally finished mine today.
I'm impressed with the results of this combination:
1 coat Klasse all in one.
2 coats Klasse high gloss sealant.
2 coats Pinnacle souveran paste wax.

Didnt even get the porter-cable out (was too lazy)
Its a huge pain in the ass not having a garage that fits a car and me. Had to pick and choose the days (early mornings/evenings) to apply coats. 4 days and approximately 9 hours of work.

You know they are the same. Standard on 135i. How much did you pay for the calipers?

I just had my car machine polished and waxed. I didn't have that much swirling, but there was enough to take the depth out of the shine.

Car looks great now and I'll post some photo's when I get the chance.

Well worth it.
