60 MPH ????? The only time my car see's those kind of speeds are on surface roads! I normally drive 80-85 mph on the highway and get 36 mpg depending on wind, heat, elevation change etc it can go up to 39 mpg.

Doing 70-75mph, will do 39-41mpg hand calc. Doing normal 80-85mph, it usually returns 36. Don't really do much city driving anymore, it's 21 miles to town now .

Remember reading a comparison between a 520d and a Prius and on the French motorways, the Prius couldn't keep up with 520d on the motorway at 80mph. They had to cruise at 70mph instead.
I really cannot understand why anyone would buy a battery-operated car when this kind of efficiency AND performance can be achieved with diesels choked by emissions controls. That was not long before I had CBU cleaned and new injectors installed. I bet it gets 45 on that same run now.

Can you imagine this car as a hybrid? With assisting motors for more power, even more efficiency and possibly as AWD.

The Prius will be long forgotten.

Chrysler had a diesel-electric hybrid they wanted to get to market that got 70+ MPG but they chickened out.

I would buy a 70+ MPG legit diesel hybrid car in a second. Been wanting one for about 10 years.

Vw Jetta diesel hybrid, but with the stop sale you will have to wait or look for a used one. But it's not as good of mileage as just a regular diesel is with a 6 speed manual. I constantly et 55 mpg hand calc. Primarily freeway driving here. I'll sell you my leased Jetta it's a 2015

I don't think VW makes a "diesel hybrid" for sale in the USA....
They have a diesel
And a Gas hybrid

But not a diesel hybrid.
