Nah, not even got down to the metal yet - loads of miles left on them!

Replace rear brake pads and rotors | Album

As mentioned a while back when adjusting the parking brake, I noticed the rear pads were near the end of their life. I ordered up the parts and here is the install. Nothing fancy, just a typical rear brake job.

Parts:
$100.94 | Zimmerman brake rotor (rear, ×2) | 150.3467.20 (compare with BMW OEM 34116855006)
$48.46 | Textar brake pads (rear, ×2 sets) | 2331301 (compare with BMW OEM 34116780711)
$16.33 | Textar brake pad wear sensor (rear) | 98046010 (compare with BMW OEM 34116780711)

You're right, if I'm just going to replace the rotors as well, I might as well wait until it's metal-on-metal. Except I'd be worried the backing plate might fall out of the caliper and then I'd be abrating the caliper piston or caliper slider against the rotor thinking the horrid noise was just the pad backing plate, so here I am replacing things just a bit before the bitter end.

Too right. If there's one thing to have in good condition on your car... it's the tires. After that, it's the brakes.

New tire repair kit | Album

A while back the wagon suffered a flat tire on the freeway and it was not a great experience. Of course a AAA membership is probably the real solution, but until that happens we'll have to rely on a tire repair kit and air compressor. To that end, I picked up a couple very good tire repair kits highly recommended in off-roading communities. One for each car that doesn't have a spare tire. That means a kit for both the wagon and the clown shoe.
It looks like these kits are a bit less expensive these days if you want to pick one up yourself.

Parts:
$40.92 | Boulder Tools Heavy Duty Tire Repair Kit

Replace front passenger side door pull | Album

The front passenger side door pull had gotten a bit chewed up and ratty over the years from past owners, so I replaced it.

The only notable thing about the installation is that the plastic pins that hold the door pull to the door card are melted/plastic-welded at the factory. I used a cutting disc on a rotary tool to carefully remove them, and instead tapped threads onto the new pins and used washers and nuts to hold them in place, since I don't have a pin-melter on hand.

There are a lot more images in the linked album, so check it out if you're interested.

Parts:
$88.38 | OEM passenger's side door pull (back half) (black color) | 51417230850
$20.74 | OEM passenger's side door pull (front half) (black color) | 51416971290

~$3.00 | Dorman 6.4mm (1/4") flat washers (×50) | 799-040
$1.49 | Lowe's 8mm flat washers (×10) | 138144
$1.60 | Lowe's 7mm hex nut (×5) | 138115
