I just installed the OEM SSK, and it's very nice. Throws are as short as the UUC kit I had on my E46 M3, but the action is smoother and it doesn't transmit syncro noise (probably because the OEM kit still uses a plastic pivot ball instead of a steel ball like most aftermarket kits). Add a weighted knob (like UUC) and the feel will be outstanding.

It fits my 335 just fine. Several others have used it with no issues.

The product labeling itself says its not for the 335, so it's only natural that the dealer is unwilling to offer it to you- they don't want you blaming them if the kit does not work on your car. I don't know why the part is not approved for the 335, but it works perfectly fine - no interference with other parts and no install issues. I've been using mine for a week now and I'm thoroughly satisfied. I was also skeptical at first, but decided to try it out after seeing that 4 or 5 other forum members had successfully installed the kit on their 335s. Plus, the kit is only like $183 at Tischer, including a boot and knob (which I did not use) - it's a good deal.
