Finally got my dyno: 283hp at the wheels
Finally got the time yesterday to drive the 300 miles to get my remap done after weeks of waiting to clock up enough miles to loosen the engine. Many thanks to the guys at www.kempower.be - they spent 5 hours tweaking my engine and I must say they have done a really professional job.
The car feels exactly the same until I gun it and then you can really feel the extra 60hp. The engineer who road tested the car post-op said he got wheel spin in 4th but, as I have to pay for my own tyres, I won't be trying too much of that, thank you very much Final result, then: 283hp & 615Nm (449 lb-ft). Good enough for me

Wow, the passing power on the motorway (autobahn, freeway, etc) must be MASSIVE. When I lived in Germany, I had an Opel Omega (company car) with the 2.5 BMW diesel motor in it... It was so awesome on the autobahn because I never had to downshift. I really miss that torque.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but are these adjusted dyno figures? Because these look like flywheel horsepower numbers and not at the wheels. The initial dyno is showing almost zero drivetrain loss and even for a BMW that is underrated, that is unusual. Do you have any other power mods done?

I completly believe this dyno!!!
Diesel turbo engines are extremly detuned for car applications!! 60hp extra is completly normal!! I drive an 03 2500HD with a duramax diesel and allison tranny with a hypertech chip and its got almost 30hp gains! Im putting on a full banks kit soon that assures 70+

Diesel engines always have a lot of torque because of high compression ratio, but they are usually heavier and rev lower. This is why they are great for towing applications. They also get great gas mileage and last forever. Wouldn't it be great if you could just take the diesel crankshaft and install it into our cars for a longer stroke?

Either way your gains are impressive.... 56 hp and 73 lb/ft torque increase just from a flash. If the dyno did not calculate drivetrain loss, then your numbers at the flywheel are just insane. That would put you well over 300 hp at the flywheel and over 500 lb/ft of torque.. which would be gains of 70+ hp and 130+ lb/ft. Either way, sweet ride Now go smoke them rear tires up haha.

In 3 weeks I'll have my 335d and I'm seriously thinking of spending about 800 euro to let it remap again. I'm just not sure what that would give in numbers of hp and torque... |

315,000km?! Wow, that's good to hear. I believe Kempower are still developing the remap for the 335d, but I'm sure you would be good for about 350hp & 700Nm They advised me to wait until I had done at least 5000km, though, and as it turned out, I had done 11,000 by the time they got their hands on it yesterday. Best €800 I have ever spent - go for it

Yeah 315000km :rocks: and taken all into account, no mayor malfunction. At least one that could be caused by the remap...
The only time I was really scared that I had to spend my last eurocent, was when they told me that my "bottom-plate" (sorry don't know the word, litteral translation from Dutch) was broken due to the torque... Luckily I wasn't the only-one, and BMW repaired for free |

Now you're beginning to scare me I have heard, however, that the e90 has been considerably toughened up compared to the e46 (brakes, clutch, etc), so let's hope they did the 'bottom plate', too

I have personally driven several diesel's E46 and E39's... and the torque at is amazing... With auto transmission even better.... All US states, apart from California, should have the choice to buy one...
