Driving without chassis brace

Installed my AMS exhaust but then shop couldn't put back oem chassis brace as exhaust pipe was sitting a bit lower then the oem. If they would play with it more, than the tips where not aligned.

Going to track this summer. Will it affect my performance??

Yes. I believe it's place in the middle of the car.

Modify the brace to fit. It helps, but isn't the end of the world to drive without it.

This what you mean? Notice the flattened BMW pipes over the brace. AMS claim to be made for your ride?

How hard could it be to fab a triangulated X brace to fit?

BMW not known to install frivolous bracing - I'd fix this before a high stress situation deforms your ride.

I had mine modified to fit the stock brace. Now I'm selling it so I can get matching RB rear rotors.

i just order the following to help with the exhaust rattling on the flimsy bmw aluminum one:
http://www.ultraracing.my/Bars.asp?ID=4561

will provide feedback once i get it installed. cant go wrong with stiffening up the chassis, especially for the track.

I took the factory brace, added a .25in wood spacer. Used this as a mold as I layer carbon fiber.

The result: a solid carbon fiber brace with more clearance.
