Best windshield wipers to use?
So....what the best wiper blades out there for BMW? I have a 2007 335i e90 that i just bought 2 months ago. The wipers make a not so nice noise on the windshield, especially whey there is not a lot of water. It's just annoying
So i'm assuming that i need new blades, but i didn't find a topic on this (or just didn't look hard enough). I would appreciate some feedback before i go and spend more money that i don't have..... |

the oem ones work fine, but you probably need new ones if the previous owner didnt get them changed. are you under free maintenance still? if so, bring it in to a dealership and see if they'll change if for you. if not...i think the oem blades are actually pretty expensive...like $100 a set or so.

you may not need new ones, are they streaking? I got mine replaced by the dealer and they make and ungodly noise until they are "broken in", even when there is alot of water.
Probably Rain-x because they curve to the glass like the oem ones...

Oe's are nice. If they're not Bosch, I find Bosch to be the best aftermarket sets for longevity and effectiveness.

The OE's are very good and are very easy to install. They're not inexpensive, but definitely not $100 if you order them.
This is where I bought my last pair for $45: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

They have made this noise since i got the car so maybe they do just need to be "broken" in but ow long do they take? I'll call the dealer and see if they are new. Never asked.

It took about a month but it wasnt really raining often only like 2 or 3 times. So realistically about a week if it rained often.

also (1) clean your windshield, and then (2) try taking some glass cleaner or rubbing alcohol and wipe down the blades with a cloth until you get most/all of the dirt off (you'll know it's clean when you wipe the blade edge with the cloth and the blade doesnt leave a black line of dirt). i would try that first and see if that helps. even new wipers make noise if they're dirty or are skipping due to dirt on the windshield.

It's for a complete front set.
I would definitely have balked if it was per blade. I couldn't imagine spending $90 for wiper blades!

I've used Rain-X (the liquid, not the blades) in the past but I've developed a hatred for the stuff. If you do end up needing to use your wipers after putting that stuff on your wipers will skip and jump all over the place and it's nearly impossible to get it off. Perhaps I didn't apply it correctly but that's been my experience with it...
