Why would you flash a 330i to a 325i? I presume you mean the other way around?

I figured, but it's possible somebody would go the other way..

anyway, most of it is handled by the batch routine. All you really need to do is install the software and make sure your cable is working. You can't really brick it, and MSV70 can easily be recovered.

With the way gas prices are, I'd rock a 325i 87 octane eco tune

you could run a 330i tune on 87 - you’re talking $3 difference total at the pump anyhow.

You have to download them first. Also, if you downloaded the BMW Tools installation from Bimmergeeks.net, you can skip to step 5.

yeah, there's no reason - the 330i tune will run on 87 octane, of course with reduced torque.

not in Vancouver, BC! Gas is nearly $7 a gallon there. That's why all the Canadians come down here to get gas at our "cheap" price of $3.50 a gallon.

talk about total thread jack.. lol

I finally got the 330i flash tune to work on my car thanks to hassmaschine . this is what i had to do:

if you have bmw software, uninstall it.
download bmw software from bimmer geeks and reinstall it
make sure your usb communicates edibas with ncs expert leave it open ( for me inpa software did not download if it did for you use that instead)
install msv70rsa delete first using the bat file took about 15 mins
install 330i flash bat file took about 1 minute
done

this took me about 4 hours to figure out lol as i said im not smart with this stuff

so inpa doesnt work and i need that to reset adaption values, so i delete bmw software that i downloaded from bimmer geeks and reinstall software that came with my kdan cable from ebay. now i have inpa but for some reason it doesnt communicate with the cable. ill figure that out. for the most part i have the 330i flash onto my 325i and boy does it ever make a difference.

They can keep it, thanks. Canadian myself several generations back.

Luckily the Bobber uses 87oct but the Monster wants 90oct or better, figures. I've no earthly idea where my 328i is or where it is in process, oh well, it's stored inside with the race and collector cars so can't complain and they won't let me pay anything till they're done. Weird life...

I think you probably just need to check the settings of your COM port if INPA isn't working.

Glad you got it figured out.

What kind of Monster do you have? I remember commenting about bikes before but I don't think I realized you have a Monster. I've been drooling for years, maybe in a couple more I can finally snag one.

I personally wouldn't want (definitely don't need) the bigger motor, but boy is the new 25 year anniversary model gorgeous!
