Nice one! Just looked at one of my logs which shows the loss of power and firmware is 31.2

I guess I should be looking at updating.

Here is the log is anyone is interested. Loss of power and boost is nearer down the bottom.

Ive adjusted menu 12 but haven't been on a proper run yet. Although I got some different codes when revving the car from cold when picking the mrs up from the station.

Awsaws, that makes sense. I'll book it in for a dyno & maybe get the gearbox remapped.

Guys here's my cheap, simple and easy tablet mount for any car.

Close up of the velcro strip

Just use some adhesive velcro tape.

20cm strip is under £2 delivered of places like ebay

It's very reliable. The more the tablet moves, the more the velcro sticks.

The strips on the tablet are thin enough to still fit in the carry case\stand.

Cut to size with scissors how you want.

It had a slightly better spec than the non pro version and wasnt much difference in price. Cheaper options work though.

Mount is easy. I use velcro

OTG vable was a cheap one off ebay. Around £1 to £1.50?

The actual D-can\Kline cable was from cableshack off ebay. Around the £40 mark with all the software. That's for MHD flasher.

For the JB4 mobile app I got the bluetooth USB connector.
Thanks guys.

I'm going to be interested to see what improvement you get as well.

What are your mods to date?

Good stuff.

If you got yourself a JB4 you'd be in the 12's. Maybe high 12's.
Do downpipes and the JB4 and run some ethanol in the fuel and bet you'd do 12.5 secs and around 115mph.

When I decided to tune my 335i I did consider a jb4 but decided it wasn't for me as I am not interested in spending time with a tablet plugged into my car choosing between different maps & analysing engine data.
As for the down pipes, bigger turbos & all the other stuff that can be done, I don't want to spend that kinda money.
The car is its plenty fast enough & it won't be that bad if I can't run a 12.9, it would be nice is all.

maps are straight fly on the wheel. no need to connect anything to it.
Also ive got the JB4 app on my android phone. I have an edge+ so its a good size screen. Connect it to the usb and the app is preset to start logging once certain parameters are met.

Im not very active on it tbh, ive got it set to map 5 and that's it I don't do anything to it. Sometimes when im going for a drive il connect my phone to it and open the app and leave it be, and just check the data or send it off directly from my phone to BMS via email for them to check everything is a ok.

Personally think youl struggle to get into the 12's.

Il look out for you on Saturday!

And I you!
When I first had the engine remap I was running the 1/4 in 13.4@ 106mph, after I added the intercooler my terminal speed increased to 108, but I didn't improve my times as I had lots of wheel spin. Am hoping the gearbox flash will reduce the wheelspin.
Anyways will find out saturday

As Imy said, the JB4 can be set and forget. Just select a map off the steering wheel 1,2 or 5. 5 is a nice autolearning tune that will take advantage of your mods.

I think your gearbox tune is actually likely to increase wheel spin if it's binding harder and faster. You might get a better trap speed though if it's more efficient during the changes.

The greatest benefit of the logging though is that you can see. Places where the car can be improved, quickly read off error codes and ask experts for help and advice etc.

It's daunting at first but it's the best thing I ever did for my car.

Will an intercooler actually add anything on 1/4 timings? I thought more so for the benefit of full on track days etc...

It can lower the IATs. The JB4 only retards timing after something like 130F and above. Any cooler IATs should increase HP from better volumetric efficiency. Over the course of a quarter mile the difference could be very minor. Depends how well it flows as well.
I actually think my VRSF intercooler hindered my performance until I had a better back end flash tune. Probably due to the Turbos having to fill a bigger air space and needing to work harder.

The problem is we can't really compare one days times to another. I've turned up with the same car, settings etc and seen 12.6 one time and 13 another. I think it's down to the prep and grip of the surface plus air temps etc.

Yes it's a mystery to me. All I can think is play with boost limits but I tried a bit of that and still had poor 60ft times.

No just a single press....It was my first time, so was pleased with a 12.6 on the day...new m3 and m4's didn't manage under 13.

Next may take off the traction fully, mess with 1st and 2nd gear starts and try to improve boost brake..
