That means there is a fault somewhere in your air bag system, and it has been de-activated.

Do you not have an owners manual?

Regards,
Ray L.

I just bought the car 2 weeks ago, I'm currently not at it just thought I would ask, the recall was done on it about a year ago. Seems weird how it would keep showing up

That airbag light does not mean recall. Just means you have an issue with your airbag system.

The recall does not show up any airbag light.

So should I take it to the dealer?

I think what he's saying is that there was a recall done regarding one of his airbags..

OP, best thing to do is scan to see which airbag it is.

Likely it is an issue with your passenger seat occupancy mat sensor, they did a slew of recalls (not the drivers airbag) on this part on the early E90s.

Is it a sedan? If so you might be in luck, I just got a letter from BMW stating there is now a 15 year warranty on the occupancy sensor for the E90, but might be for early build dates only

You will need to have the code for this read by a bmw specific code reader or app to be sure before you eat the diagnostic fee

Good looks my man, I just called they said there was only one recall which wasn't anything to do with that, I work at Toyota I'll have one of my techs plug in a scanner and see if anything comes back

The fault code(s) needs to be determined before anymore speculation. A fault does not necessarily mean the system is deactivated. Most times it means the system may not operate in a crash situation exactly as it is designed to. The system for the most part is designed to fail safe (i.e. deploy the airbags).

I would get rid of my car before living with that. When my passenger sensor went bad, the error would reappear constantly despite reset until it was replaced. Drove me crazy for the couple days before it was replaced, of course it started at the beginning of a long weekend roadtrip.

OP, get the car scanned with a BMW scanner and get it fixed for the safety of your passengers and your general sanity. The Foxwell scanner is under $200, get MHD, or you can get a laptop based system for the cost of a cord and some downloads.

One reason those lights show up is because the BST detonator cable connector either is knocked off during battery replacement and not placed back, or it was connected back but was bent out of shape and not making good enough connection anymore.

If you can read the codes with something like INPA you can determine if it is this or not for sure. See this thread:

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1077369

And this thread:

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...ight+seat+belt

Due to passenger seat occupancy sensor malfunction same lights may show up, but I think the passenger seat belt off warning light at the top will also light up in that case. Not 100% sure though, since I have not experienced this. Reading the codes will tell exact issue.

Does Toyota have BMW-specific software that can connect with the MRS (Multiple Restraint System) Module, and read codes and do "Status" diagnostics? You are probably going to need a shop with INPA or ISTA connect to your OBD II socket to do proper diagnostics.

As others have suggested, the warning lights you show in the photo are GENERAL (non-specific) fault indicators SOMEWHERE in the MRS system: Air bags, Seat belt Tensioners, BST connection, Occupancy Mat, Crash Sensor test signals, etc. and you NEED the correct Software to test.

Other than making sure the BST connector from the MRS Module is snugly connected, there's NOT a lot you can do w/o the software. I'll attach a jpg of that "igniter" connector in following post.
