MHD on Android 8 head unit?

I have a Joying Android 8 head unit and had MHD N54 installed. I downloaded it back in March to see if it would work because I planned on purchasing the licenses eventually. About a month ago, I tried to open it but it just freezes on the main screen with the car. Anyone else having issues like this? The app has updated regularly so it should be the latest version. Should I try to find a previous version to install somehow? Thanks in advance!
