Arrow e90post Track Day (Fri 29th August): Photos p24

Anyone have plans to a do a track day before the end of September?

I would love to do one and thought it would be more fun if a small group of us went together?

I would prefer an open pit lane rather than timed sessions.

Let's hear your thoughts and ideas if you are interested.

Theres one on Sunday September 14th at Donington, can't tell if it is open pit or not (sometimes they are not often though) they did used to say on old website, now it seems they've gone for style over substance, since the announcement that they will be taking the Grand Prix in 2010, I wonder?!

I am very much up for a track day - i do quite a few every year on my bike (GSXR 1000 K7) - but since having the 335i ive been thinking about doing a car track day - never done one in a car before - if there was a group going it would be a lot more fun - keep me posted on where and what dates are being suggested.

Ive done the Nurburgring three times now on a bike and a group of us are riding down again on Aug 8th, 9th, 10th - but again on bikes. Would love to drive down in a group and do it in the 335i - but maybe best to do a UK track day first!!!

Unfortunately I've can't do anything in August at all. Seem to have loads going on at the moment.

I can recommend Beford though. I've driven there 3 times on the palmersport day and it's a nice circuit and ideal for a first track day.

Very safe with plenty of run off, so if you do spin out (and chances are you may if you really push on) then you are very unlikely to damage your car.

I reckon you have to drive over the limit to really understand handling and the racing line.

I span just about everything the first time I went and last time had a 100mph spin in Jaguar JP1.

Spinning the Jag was a perfect lesson. I was on the fastest part of the circuit and accelerating full bore toward the max speed point (which would have been 120mph plus in the Jag. Unfortunately, I didn't allow the car to run wide, but instead tried to stay over to the right in readiness for the next corner.

If you do go in August I'm sure it will be a great day.

Unless we do one in Sept? I'm flexible so let me know what works for you.

I've not done a track day yet so want to go with a few others who have been before...

I can do a week day too which might be better?

I can also do a weekday - brands hatch is an awsome track, especially the full GP circuit but it gets fully booked very quickly - they also do evening sessions. Otherwise the Bedford one would be good. Lets get our diarys out and sort a date that works for as many as possible - the more the merrier.

Sometimes I really worry about me, took me ages to get that!

I was sat here thinking how on earth could he have taken an LSD I think it's a Derbyshire thing, lol, we are a bit sheltered from the scary world of the M25, Shottingham, drugs and rock and roll

In terms of a date/s in August - i am NOT able to do anything from Aug 8th to 22nd - so for me it would need to be either FIRST week in August or LAST week.

Just found Weds 6th Aug - BRANDS HATCH - full day - open pit lane - and it still has places at the moment. Its the INDY circuit which isnt as much fun as the GP but ive done it many times on my bike and its very easy to learn so would be ideal as a first timer track. Its £225 which is a little expensive but a great track all the same with brilliant facilities. Im up for it if we can get a few others involved. Bay.

Looks good I wouldn't mind coming along to it, will check round some trackday companies see if they've got the same day cheaper some do have now and then.

Also anyone know if theres anything in Evo? I haven't bought it for ages.
