jb4 with MHD BEF

so i have an mhd bef stacked with jb4 right now but my car isn't passing smog because of it. even after driving hundreds of miles on map 0.

so my plan is to remove the jb4 and then take it in. but my question is, if i remove the jb4 will i first need to flash back to stock on the mhd? or if i remove the jb4 will the car automatically be in its stock configuration?

also, i have a 2013 e92 model and i had to unlock the dme in order to use the mhd flash. if i have to flash back to stock first using the mhd will the dme be locked again?

i really need halo figuring out what to do here and any insight will be helpful.

A JB4 with a bef shouldn't cause this, especially on map 0. Are you on OEM downpipes? Does your inspection check cat readiness or probe the exhaust?

I believe when you flash map 0 with mhd you have to select catted downpipe so the dme can read the 02 sensor signal. Are you catless d.p?

"Map 0" is a JB4 map which turns the JB4 off, not a flash feature.

But yes, when flashing the BEF.bin file, select aftermarket DP's in the MHD menu and it wont throw the CEL if that's the issue.

Just want to clarify to avoid the "how do I flash map 0" question.

Also, as of January of 2020, MHD is able to be flashed on all E9X DME versions without need for unlock / bench flash.

While Map 0 is a JB4 function, Stage 0 is indeed a flash function of MHD. It's a map similar to stock but without completely removing the MHD from the vehicle. In my experience when dealing with smog, Stage 0 specifically isn't needed. The "aftermarket DP" option for any stage (0, 1, 2 or custom) will need to be left unselected when flashed. This allows the correct monitors to set in order to complete a smog. Hope this helps

Are you on Stock DP's? Can't think of any situation where one would select "aftermaket downpipes" when they don't have aftermarket downpipes, and vise versa.

I've never had a problem passing emissions in my state selecting aftermarket DP's, but not sure if NY is different than NJ.

Nahh c*tless dp...I select it to hide the check engine light, but come emissions time in ny that monitor needs to be active when they scan the car.
