After market side marker question?

So those sequential side markers signal lights that replace the stock ones on the fenders, do they only work for hazards and directional when the car is not running? For some reason when my car is running, [IMG]undefined[/IMG]they blink like the normal side markers, but when the car is not running, they do that slick sequential pattern when I turn on my hazards and directional. Is that normal?

I've had those on 3 different cars and they work as sequentials at all times. Something funny is going on with yours.
