Coilover help
[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]
Hi everyone, I want to raise my car on these BC coilovers and I can't get the mono tube to turn. The silver collars are as tight against each other as I can get them. All tutorials say this is not for adjusting height, only pre load and the mono tube should turn for height adjustment. Any suggestions? |

With that loose, take your spanner wrench and turn the the 2 spring lock nuts...but, keep those 2 nuts tight against each other while doing this. To raise the car, place the spanner wrench on the bottom of the 2 spring lock nuts and turn clockwise. The entire threaded body and spring should turn in the shock body. Of you want to lower the car, place the spanner wrench on the top of the 2 spring lock nuts and turn counter clock wise.

If they're locked tight against each other, and you're using the right one as far as upper/lower nut for raising/lowering...it should work. If it's been a while since they've been installed you may have dirt/corrosion on the threads, inside the shock body, preventing it from turning.
