lights in dash? Does this mean I need brakes?

I dont have a manual to look at what the symbols mean so I thought Id ask here. I was driving today and the red "BRAKE" light came on the dash. Then the car threw a error code which I saw through my COBB AP. Sorry I forget the code but it was something like AEDAD. I cleared the code and it hasnt came back. I then checked my service intervals on the stalk and all of them are orange and either have a date or milage of when they need to be checked. But one popped up at the front of the car and the rear of the car and they are in yellow, and no milage at the bottom. Im guessing its for the breaks. Ill attach a few pics maybe someone can school me as to what this is.

you need new brakes...or a brake sensor is bad.

or if both are good. reset the service light.

Brake Pad sensor. It can be a faulty one, your brake pads are low, or you're due for service.

Reset through i-drive

if you dont have idrive do this

You need front brakes and your rear brakes are almost due. The car on the lift is the "vehicle check" that is due.

Probably not a bad sensor. Also you cannot just reset it if the sensor is worn, you need to replaced the brakes and sensor.

in my case it was only the front break pads, and it was still under 4yr/50k warranty so I paid nothing... depending where you go ranges from 250 - 400 per side

I just got the same think happen to me this morning. What was the remedy, new brakes? Yesterday my front brake were showing due in 3000 kms and rears in 27 000 kms and today I got exact same symbols on my dash and service counters with no values in them.

Your input would be greatly appreciated

OP, how many miles are on the car? If it is anywhere past 50K you need brakes and new sensors. The sensors don't "go bad" (unless the wires somehow get damaged), they are supposed to go bad; that's how they work. They wear out as the pads get consumed.

I changed my brakes but didn't change the sensor. The sensor came on after 400 miles. Stealership wanted $80 to reset it.

You cannot reset the light without changing the sensor. I took it to a local shop and they tried to reset it without the sensor but it wouldn't work.

Just wondering, why do people always assume that these warning lights and service indicators come on for no good reason and just need to be reset?!
When your German car tells you it needs new brakes, give it new brakes! Ve do not make frivolous idle conversation and neither do our Autos!
