OFFICIAL 2006 BMW 330i (E90) THREAD

I should really know this considering I've had the car for about six weeks, but how do I know if I have active steering? I've been trying to figure it out but I just can't. Is there any tell-tale part in the engine I can look for? I think I asked before and someone asked me how many times I could turn the wheel and I forgot to follow up on that post. From center, I can turn it one and a half times in either direction. So from limit to limit I can turn it 3 times.

If your power steering cap looks like mine you have active steering,

Also take a look whats on the cap,
If it says "Pentosin CHF11S Only!" you have active steering,

If it says "ATF Only" you do not

The cap looks a bit different; it looks like a 10-or-so-spoked star and it has a green sticker that says CHF 11S only, no Pentosin. Seems like I have half of what you're talking about

Yes, that's the power steering fluid reservoir.

Mine is a winter-mobile these days.. Pulled out of this (in reverse, of course) with no digging. But straight line on the highway was another story... Never thought I'd get tired of countersteering...

I have a 2006 325i sedan and I successfully did the 3-stage intake manifold swap and got stage I 330i software from a company called EVOTech.

Former member of the 330i club. Sold it back in Nov of 07 and honestly I miss it. Going downhill on the Autobahn you could get the speedo to read 160mph so technically it was faster than my 335i

I bought this baby 2 months ago (CPO) as birthday gift for myself. It wasn't a steal deal, but it's very hard to find with this combination (330xi, 6MT, ZPP, ZSP and ZCP with black leather) so Im happy with it. I enjoy everytime when Im behind the wheel. I have put 4000 miles after I bought it.
