How do we turn up the water pump setting? That could really help in Phoenix heat.
First, every motor uses oil. EVERY motor. 1/2 quart/5k miles is totally fine.

Second, motors are designed to run as hot as possible to lower fuel consumption (and emissions). IIRC, M57 thermostats are 92C; there generally is not a "colder" or "hotter" part. I don't know what you mean by "turn up"; nothing is adjustable in the cooling system.

I can't remember where I read it, but it seemed as if someone said we could turn up the speed of the auxiliary water pump. I got the impression you could do it through coding.

The additional water pump is for the heater, not the engine. You want more heat in the cabin, that's the ticket.

To me, this makes the most sense.

My dealer, however, here in the hot part of the country uses 5W30 LL04 instead of the factory recommended 0W30. I don't know if going to a 0W30 when I'm done with "free" oil changes would be good or not.

Nice! FYI, Slightly better deal, Autozone (Depends on state)has 2 gallon packs with a free baseball cap (lol) for $39.99 before $14 rebate.

Walmart also sells T6 for about $20/gal (before $7/gal rebate)

Yeah Idc much about the baseball cap lol. I ordered through amazon because I've heard if they f**k up the shipping (it leaks or dented or something) they send out another shipment. Can't ever have enough oil!
