The DIS can by cycled through different displays such as phone info, nav directions, compass, digital speedo, etc by using the steering wheel buttons. Pretty sure the units could be changed to km

Good choice Paul!
As you can see, I have become a convert to Audi and I really like the A7...probably out of my budget for the forseeable future but one I would aspire to! Love that F10 too, one of the best I've seen. I really like the extra grip from the quattro though (without wanting to get a proper 4x4). I wish BMW would bring the awd 3 and 5 series to the UK!!

Nice
Did you compare to an A5 sportback - pretty much the same size apparently from the spec sheet, though not compared them myself in the metal. One is around £10k less than the other for the same engine etc.....I guess the A7 is generally more upmarket, though I would not think of an A5 as feeling cheap. What are the numbers 123456 for next to the gear lever? I rather like the interior.

Not sure if the A5 is as well spec'd from standard? I guess not but didnt really look at them! The 1-6 is the mmi touchpad. I didn't get chance to play lots with it, but the numbers appear to be able to be used as shortcuts, but in general it's a track-pad type area. If you want to dial someone you can literally trace the numbers with your finger and it will dial the number. A bit like character recognition I suppose? |

Looks good Paul, I do like the A7.
I echo your thoughts about the steering and handling of the f10 I tried a 530d msport touring for the day when looking for a replacement for the x5, I really didn't like the feel it was very fake with very little feedback and it felt like a barge especially compared the 335d touring which has got hydraulic steering. I looked at the a4 and a6 touring but couldn't find one I liked and preferred the handling of the 335d and the engine Also Audi drivers are cocks |

Yup, units can be changed in the DIS. The dual trip computer in the Audi is also very useful and it's easy to add additional features (although I dare say the A7 will have everything anyway) using VCDS which costs around £200. That would let you adjust the steering sensitivity and a whole load of other stuff.

The spec says that the sub-woofer is located in the spare wheel well so I am guessing that it is a tin of gunge and a compressor supplied? Quote:

I will hone my 'cockishness' in readyness for the car arriving I know I will be classed as a pic whore but I have just been trawling the net to find a car with similar spec to 'mine' and here are some pics - same colour with nappa/alcantara interior - same wheels but the 19" version |

Have to say that I am looking towards Audi when it comes time to change myself, the interiors are just superb and the BMW interiors are just leaving me cold to be honest.
I would be looking at A5 coupes myself as I don't need anything as big as an A7 but even these interiors make my E92 look dated and bland, I am eagerly awaiting pictures for the F30 interiors as I've seen the F10 and I have to say I am not impressed with it at all. |
