Are these temps when your just cruising or when you drive the car hard? I tend to see anywhere from 15 deg to 25 + deg when cruising over ambient, if I'm not moving and in traffic the latter as heat soak sets in.

For me when cruising i see 10 degrees over outside temps.if I use meth it lowers of course, but without meth I normally see 10 degrees diff over ambient outside air.thats in the summer too.now in winter I see 8-10 degree diff.i wonder if putting a shroud around inter cooler to only direct air to inter cooler would make a difference.i know someone else is already doing this.not sure if its worth doing.got to do some custom cutting for it to work.Yes not moving my temps do rise since car isn't seeing airflow, normal.

I assume Jake has a lot logs for multiple cars he can share with us. Trust me, I thought HPF design was great until I received their unit with small bend, some fins bent in. After looking at Helix, you will have to agree that this is the best unit out there. Quality is superb |

They will all do the exact same thing to be honest. I like the ER competition due to the shroud that directs air flow into the intercooler. I have never heat soaked on the track (given I do have dual oil coolers from ER).

Thank you all. The decision was made based on a friend who sold me his well taken care HPF unit. I am now stage 2+ with my AR catless and the power is what some say "Stupid fast". I did have to cut the shroud and fins but I sanded them down nicely. My only concern is the radiator fan only sits flush on the drive side and about 1/2 inch off the pass side. Any ideas?

I also love all this 10 and 20 above ambient talk, totally useless without real data. Sitting in traffic numbers are not important. What is important is real world 3rd to 4th gear data at WOT. |

Truth be told logs are good but if you want to compare intercooler to intercooler apples to apples it needs to be done on the same car with the same boost curve and ideally the same ambients and heat soaking. Anything else is helpful but doesnt necessarily show the whole story.
