SP lowering perches question

Guys I haven't been active on the forum in a while but a few years back got the lowering perches and as is they didn't work. Has anyone gotten these to work? Are you just buying the non xi top hats and using the perches? Can someone please enlighten me?

Yes I have the SP perches with non xi tophats, and don't recommend them.

Why? Seems like a safe way to lower a little.

1. You need new tophats, and they will take many months for the rubber to settle. You will not get the 1/2" drop right out of the box.

2. You will lose 1/2" of travel in the front struts. This sucks, I am constantly hitting my bump stops. I'm looking at pulling mine out and putting custom Koni's on.

Why not get coilovers. H's are only a few hundred dollars more correct?

It was a long time ago when I researched it, but I thought the coilovers rode rough and the spring rate of the Eibach's were better. I just know I like the feel of the Eibach's, I just don't like the Bilstein's. They don't have enough upward dampening for my taste and I don't have enough travel. Stock adjustable Koni's would fix the dampening issue, but modified ones would fix the travel issue. I would have to ride in a 3 series with coilovers before I would consider that.

I'm going to have to look into the coils I think. TCkline doesn't do just struts for 2007xi. They offer the complete setup for some astronomical price. I already have springs.
