how often idiots damage your car

Hi guys, Im wondering what are your view on this:

Am I unlucky or there is a serious amount of twats driving around!
I just repaired my damaged mirror a week ago as an idiot hit it while driving in the opposite direction. I had no more space on my left so definitely not my fault.( other cars passed without hitting me )
Got really annoyed but repaired it last week and tried to forget about it asap.
Today when returning to my car from the gym I noticed someone hit my rear bumper!!
WTF?!!!
Im really fed up with twats on the roads, running away without admitting...
Im honestly thinking of selling my car as Im not here to repair my car every other week!!
What are your vies/experiences?

I've lost three mirrors in almost 50 years, the first to a lunatic van driver going the opposite way, the second while parked outside my house and the third on a narrow Welsh road, we both stopped to picked up our respective pieces of mirror . Other than the usual car park dings I don't recall anything else, and as I'm very fussy where I park these days, so I haven't had a ding for years, touch wood

Had you not been so tight & paid for your parking it wouldn't have happened, perhaps it was a local resident that's fed up with 'gym goers' parking outside their houses

I know there is a bus pass waiting for me if I sell So Im hesitating. Plus Im somised to my car that I probably wouldnt go anywhere without it.
Or I can get a banger and not bother at all...but sadly, I just wouldnt be happy sitting in that and seeing these F series around me

nothing illegal from my side , residents only between 10-12Am ( kind of pointless restriction ) rolleyes:
And..why pay if there is free parking only 100m away. Better spend the £££s on fuel so can have a heavier foot here and there

I go out of my way to park as far away from everyone as I can but you'd be amazed how people seem to flock to any space where my car is.

I've been sat in my car with my wife before and had some lazy prat banging his door off mine when I've been sat in the car because he's too retarded to park somewhere else or get out without doing it. I then get out and ask him not to hit my car and he starts Fing and blinding saying he has to get out. Then gestures that he's going to kick my car. I could have put my foot through his car and his face! Un f'ing believable. I have a nice scrape on my door thanks to some other annonymous sh*te parker as well.

The majority of people have cars they don't give a sh*t about. They have scrapes and scratches. They are cheap run arounds to get from A to B and they don't care if they pick up any more marks. They probably despise people with nice cars. Others are just useless drivers with no spatial awareness etc.

I do the same & often find someone's parked tight alongside mine
Fortunately my drivers door has some damage so I'm not particularly careful about hitting their car with my door if they've parked especially close

A friend came round a while ago in her brand new VW convertible, pulled in my drive and flung the door open, which crashed against a brick wall. I was surprised that she didn't bother checking the door for damage but, as she was leaving, I asked if she had any touch up paint. She looked puzzled and asked "Why?" When I told her the door was likely to be damaged by the impact she didn't believe me, and I think this is quite a common attitude, people don't understand how small an impact it takes to damage paintwork.

yeah dinged the edge of my door off a wooden fence and I was angry for weeks about it. I opened the door and the wind just ripped it out of my hand into the fence.

Big doors, aka sails on the coupe!

I would have but then I thought of the hassle of a criminal record. I sometimes travel to places like the US.

Reading this winds me up, I have to park on a busy road and three times in the last year my driver side mirror has been knocked off, once when it was folded in. How bloody close do you have to be to do that?!

I work in city centre and that is just hopeless now, finding random scratches and deliberate key marks in the car now. Sick of trying to maintain a nice car.

Last year, an idiot in a Subaru hit my drivers door mirror while overtaking at speed. Going by the noise the mirror made as it impacted the speeding Subaru I fully expected to see a huge amount of damage to my car, but on inspection there wasn't a scratch, phew!

Yeah a work colleague of mine parks his car on the road and it's forever picking up scrapes and scratches.

Most people don't care unfortunately. I live on a main road with no driveway and have had 2 cars hit significantly parked outside and they have just driven off. I now park my cars at the top of a quiet side street which is a bit further away but they should be safer from idiot drivers and then found my e28 with the front wing smashed in beyond repair a couple of weeks ago

I think I've just about managed to calm down now but I managed to find a second hand wing to fit for a very reasonable price so just need to strip it down and spray it.

That's good, although it's a bit of a shit at least it's repairable. Your E28 is very cool

Best thing I did was build a garage in my back garden.
