Pondering: Oil pressure switch

Hello,

Oil pressure switches for N52 has switching pressure range of 0.2 - 0.5bars.

If it's the hysteresis range of switching or tolerance of switching point it's a really low pressure regardless. Unnervingly low.

Did a pressure measurement for the hot engine (winter driving) and engine produced 2.5bar at idle and 4-5bar at revs.

So whats the deal??
Is it just for starting the engine to cut fuel until there is sign of oil pressure building up?
Also oil pressure signal is ignored at idle and low 1000's at least in the other german brand car I have experience on.

Any drop-in replacements with higher pressure such as 0.7bar?
