Ok so we installed the EBC... kind of... the unit is installed, however it's not reading boost. We think it's because it's tapped into the valve cover, we're gonna switch to the intake manifold.

That aside, I did flash my E40 map and gonna do logs as soon as it stops raining. Car feels great and is ready for at least 2 or 3 more PSI, that being the most the stock HPFP can handle without PI.

Let's call this a 3 week review and my overall thoughts. If you have an N55 and want to make 500 or so whp and THAT'S IT, get Pure Stage 2. This kit is almost double the price and a PS2 car would be right with me. So then why did I buy this?

A couple reasons; to be one of the first to do it, the sound (let's be real it sounds amazing), and because I have bigger goals with this car. The potential for this kit is far higher than PS2 as that turbo will start to really max out around 580 whp. I plan to swap to a manual, put an LSD, and even build the motor from top to bottom. A top mount single makes more sense for ME based on my vision for the project, but as the stock block can't handle the full potential for this kit, it is not for everybody.

The fit was great, the feel is great, the power is great. But these things are apparent for PS2 as well. If you want a fun daily and this is the final step, get PS2.. if you're like me and this is just Phase 1 give DocRace a call because this is a hell of a product. Next step is a manual transmission and LSD, then its time to build this baby up

Someone has money to put into this damn haha! I'm curious to see how far this turbo can go!

Not sure if im too late to this thread.. but @basil335i on ig had a 6266 top mount kit done by jpworkz out in Orange County CA, around June 2018. He might be able to throw u in the right direction if you run into issues

I have been very satisfied with the acceleration of my car, especially since throwing some E85 in there. It gets to 100 REAL quick but whats most impressive is 100+.

With the stock turbo it would just die, but this one NEVER STOPS! I'm going to try and record it because my god is it so much fun. Last night I hit 160 so fast It blew my mind, on a track of course

I was told the Docrace kit would not fit the e92 n55 AWD vehicles. I will be going the FBO Pure stage 2 + PI route instead for now.

How do the jpworkz manifolds hold up? ive seen a few people who've gone with the jpworkz kit and have had the manifolds crack. Kinda curious what went wrong and how it can be improved?

Been a couple months just about since the kit was installed. Absolutely loving it so far. One of the great things about it is just how different the car feels. It isnt just a 335i with more power, because the way the power comes on is so different it feels like a completely different car. I couldn't be happier with it. I got a camera and am looking to do a video review on it. Will keep everyone posted

Did you hook up a bov? If so how? Did you leave the lines for the pcv unplugged?
I'm installing my doc n55 kit this weekend

Will you be running forged internals?

Damn ok. Is it safe to run it on stock block or it's recommended to upgrade internals? To be fair I almost never heard of N55 problems with internals. They seem pretty sturdy!

It's all dependent on how hard you push it and how long you want it to last. You can put a turbo capable of 1000hp on it if you want but if you're only making 400whp then it's not a big deal.

That is entirely true! But let's say this turbo kit can allow an output of 750 horse per example and that you would like to achieve that. At one point should one consider sturdier internals if you would happen to know?

Sub'd for updates. I have FBO pure stage 2 on my M2, and it's maxed out. I added some extras like the PR coils, a custom water/meth sprayer setup for lower IAT's and higher octane. It's just too tame for my liking. This doc race system seems to be the next logical step. I think I might upgrade from the XDI 35 hpfp to the 60. I'd also like to try and retrofit the csf s55 air water aftercooler setup.

It works as advertised. I never run out of fuel. The problem is running the ps2 above 22 psi creates way too much heat. Even with meth spray it's just too hot at those boost levels.
