OE Rear M-Sport Dampers - Part no?
Hi,
I need to replace the rear dampers on my E92 330i, but unsure as to who manufacturers the OE dampers. Is it Sachs? A quick glance at the ECP site only shows a generic Bilstein for 'Sports' suspension, so want to ensure that I am sourcing the right part. Bumpstops and topmounts I'll source from BMW as there is not much point faffing around with Non-oem for those bits. Thanks |

Sachs are OEM for BMW, however I would use the Bilstein for sports suspension as they are better quality dampers. I used them on my E91 lci when I swapped from SE suspension to Eibach Pro springs.
They are a good quality part and direct swap for OEM dampers. |

I'm in the middle of doing the same. My rear offside rear damper has gone so I've decided to do a refresh right around on the car. I've gone down the OEM route of Sachs dampers, plus I ordered a full suspension refresh kit from BMW Cotswold which includes new top mounts, bumpstops spring pads etc. Only thing I'm changing from OEM is the springs. I'm changing these to Eibach Pro-Kit.
I was tempted to go down the Bilstein B4S route, however after speaking to Eibach for my needs they advised to just go for springs with standard dampers as the drop will be almost the same as M-Sport which I'm happy with. I'll try and get some pictures up once the work is done. |

The Monroe mounts are hard to come by in the UK and cost twice what they do in the States. I'd love to upgrade while I'm doing my refresh but those Monroes are rare as hens' teeth over here.

DriverLDN, All e9 series sit lower on the driver side. However yours does look particularly low, so maybe you have a bad shock but even with new shocks/springs it'll still sit lower on drivers side.
Dependant upon how/what surface my 35i is parked on the drivers side sometimes looks lower than others even though all my suspension parts are good.

I ended up swapping the rears for Bilstein B4. Was a easy job, access is very easy.
The passenger shock was totally dead, so glad I got to replace it. (Replaced all the top mounts while I was at it) |
