Urgent: warranty question

I switched out my muffler+bumper on a leased car. I'm wondering if this only voids the muffler warranty? if I had to brg my car in to the dealership for whatever reason, change tires/etc do I have to switch the bumper+muffler back? Any help would be great on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

well, if ur dealer are jackasses, and something major happened to your engine, they might blame ur exhaust *but i highly doubt they do that*... but if your muffler/exhaust does have problem such as a leak or wierd sounds, then bmw wont cover it.

Usually people after lease will put back stock parts, I had my RE ikon for service a few itmes, and had no problem. I do see how bumper will also void warrenty as it is only cosmetic and not mechanical part.

No you shouldn't have any problems with the mods.

But if you intend to return the car on lease end, 9 times out of 10 they will want all stock parts back on the car. They MIGHT make an exception if the mods are done using BMW OEM parts (like M-Tech etc).

Doubt you'll have any problems. Just don't piss off the service manager.

Read the Moss/Magnuson act
It describes the resposibility on the dealer to prove that what you did caused the initial issue
