My Sparkling Graphite E91 320D

Here's a few pics of my recently purchased 320d. (I put it in the pics section, but thought the UK forum might get interest too)

2016-10-05_08-41-10 by Phil Cookson, on Flickr

As you can see, the car is totally factory standard. I've "upgraded" from my E46 330i touring, as it was getting a bit dated looking to me, and doing 18-19mph on the daily commute, I was getting bored of hitting the fuel station twice a week.

2015-09-29_01-11-14 by Phil Cookson, on Flickr

The specs for the 320d are as follows:-

Pan roof
Lemon Dakota trim (manual with elec bolsters)
Adaptive cruise

....and that's about it as far as I can tell.

Ideally, I'd have like no sunroof at all, xenon headlights and Logic 7, but this came up at the right time and right price. You'd never think it was on 230,500 miles. It needs a good detail, but apart from that, the body is brilliant, and the engine seems mechanically sound with the last owner having it 6 years and it never left wanting for anything.

So, my plans? Well, first off was to get rid of that trim. Everyone keeps telling me I am mad, Lemon was the most expensive option etc...... but I really dont like it, or the wood trims. It's just a bit old man for me. The day I agreed to buy the car, I popped up to see DSport and purchased this alcantara trim

It's from a 2011 car and there is barely any wear on it whatsoever. I spent this weekend getting the rear seats and doorcards swapped

2016-10-24_02-29-03 by Phil Cookson, on Flickr Minging under there, there was allsorts of rubbish. I made £1.20 though, lol

Looks so much nicer and suits the dark headlining. I've got to do the front seats this week, but swapping the rails has put me off so far, so it can go to the garage for that. They may also need to swap some pins over to get the elec bolsters working as it is an LCI trim going into a Pre-LCI car.

Next job is to source some MV3s and paint the silver trims graphite to match the car, or get them wrapped. A remap is also on the cards, but not sure whether to go for a turbo upgrade/refresh first to make sure it doesnt go boom on me after the map.

I may even see if I can splice an RCA connector into the subwoofer wiring to get my ported 10" box in there

Thanks for looking

Got the front seats swapped over, but still haven't managed to swap the wood dashtrim or centre console out yet. I really must get round to that.

In other news....

Its the little things that make the difference, looks so much better now the dark nights draw in.

Also, waiting for my logbook to come back from the DVLA so that I can put this on

Suits my driving style perfectly, lol

I've ordered a swirlflap delete kit and going to have it remapped and EGR mapped out too

Nice purchase and good to see you are already modding it. Seats look good and do genuinely suit the car well.

Whilst they weren't in too bad condition, I guess it's best to get them out.

Also fitted a DTUK CRD2 box. Pulls nice and strong now from 1500rpm

Lastnight, picked up some 19" MV2 reps.

2016-12-12_08-26-36 by Phil Cookson, on Flickr

Need to figure out best tyre size for them now. I was thinking 235/35/19 all round as they are not staggered

No, square 8j fitment all round, so no doubt going to need some spacers for them.

Need xenon headlights really, but CBA laying out hundreds for them lol

I can't wait to get them on this weekend. Should be a nice tight squeeze on the rear at 9.5j and ET27

You'll be find on 9.5 ET27, I've got ET20 on the back of mine with a subtle roll on the inside edge of the arch, but I've got a fair bit of room now.

It seriously needs a wash...... and lowering

2017-01-09_08-40-57 by Phil Cookson, on Flickr

Running 235/35/19 front and 245/40/19 rear (as I already had the tyres)

Thinking of going with Apex or Eibach for springs.

Love it! Car looks well with grey on grey CSL's.

As a matter of interest, how long and how difficult was it to do the swirl flap delete? Planning it for mine
