The way i did it was that i hijacked the analogue video input into the CIC. In order to screen cast i go into the multimedia section, select the snap in. I have an old iPhone plugged in. I navigate to the videos section and select a random video to play. I play that. The cic thinks its getting the video from the phone. The audio(and control messages) go via the USB into the combox then to cic. Its crude but its cheap and it works. That means you'll need the blue USB port on your combox connected to an iPhone for my method to work.

Also a separate question. Can the 3-wire Aux Port,in the front center console in an E92, running up to the back of the CIC HU's quadralock connector, and re-pin this to work. Basically to avoid having to run the Aux Port wiring, into the trunk for the Combox module if it is not necessary..? I have a combox telematics retrofit done and I dont plan on installing the phone snap-in cradle.

It's 4/2008 335i. M3 cluster is coded properly to work with the n54. You don't need to re-pin the 3 wire connector to work. It will work through the head unit.
