I ask because while re-setting a exhaust code ( I had switched tunes back to stock and got a code for basicly not having CATS on my car ) So while scanning and re-setting this code I seen ECU ( no description available ) Then P2A17 and P3OFF
The ECU unknown code is what I didn't like. car runs fine
I also seen on a online auction site people say they can repair DMEs ... anyone try this ( if mine goes out just want to know the options )
Scan your car with a decent scanner that can report BMW specific codes. Better yet buy a $45 cable from Bimmergeeks and install BMW Standard tools on your laptop. Without a real scan of error codes, there is no hope of anyone here giving you useful advice.

On the basis of what you describe so far, there is no reason whatsoever to be talking about getting your DME replaced.

2A17 is DTML code
30FF is underboost, a million possible causes. Is that a stored code or one that is currently present (i.e. you have a check engine light)?

I have to good scanners
1) My COBB programmer
2) BMW Carly app with OBD II connector
3) 30FF is I believe I am getting this only under high boost 17 PSI + , I have bad waste gate rattle right now so I know its not sealing up good
I was just stumped by the 2A17

Wastegate rattle just sounds bad - doesn't really affect driveability and is certainly not the reason for your 30FF code

EDIT: just realized that I've confused you with the original poster. Your sig says 2011 328i, is that not correct?

I thought a 3OFF code is loss of boost , many things can cause this but it only happens at high boost . And I thought with a wastegate that was not sealing right it could cause this...

No, very unlikely for wastegate rattle to cause this - it's just an unpleasant noise. There is some other reason for your 30FF - put your head in there and listen for a leak. Decaying vac lines are a common cause, loose connections from turbo to intercooler, intercooler to charge pipe, leaking diverter valves.

MHD app

So I changed from a COBB to the MHD app and was able to tune out the wastegate rattle for now. and I was told I would get turbo lag by doing so but got to say I cant tell.
