BlackBerry 8700c - Performance Report

I just replaced my Cingular BlackBerry 7100g for the new 8700c.

I'm fully satisfied, as I can now fully use my iDrive and voice recognition with my phone with the BlueTooth integration.

> I can now access my phone's address book (which is in reality my Outlook phone book)

> I can now dial a number using voice recognition using the person's name (for people with multiple numbers, I add <home, mobile, work> after the name. Outstanding accuracy.

> I can now initiate a call even if the phone is locked - with the 7100g I had to unlock the phone before making any phonecalls.

> Calls are not interrupted any more when in call waiting

8700c users: any additional tips you have for us?

No tips, but I use a BB too and it works great, just as you said. I just leave my phone in my briefcase in the back seat and still the reception and BT integration work perfectly. My Outlook contacts are the phone book, and they all transfer just fine, as you said.

Only thing is that I don't know how to work call waiting. I hear a second call but nothing pops up on iDrive to let me choose the second call. Does it on yours? On mine, the missed call goes into the "missed call" list.

Frankly, I don't get enough cell phone calls to worry about call waiting or figure out how it works. I don't think I've ever even had to use call waiting on that phone outside my car, anyway. It just happened once, got a second call while on a call in the car, and I didn't know how to switch over to the second call.

Well, Call Waiting doesn't work.

What I tried to say is that the issue I had with my 7100g (the call was interrupted when another call was waiting) isnow fixed in the 8700c.
