I had some brushed aluminum vinyl trimed it and sprayed some clear on top!

When blacking out everything, does it affect the brightness/visibility of the headlights? (assuming the chrome shrouds/housing serve as a reflector to make the lights brighter and shoot farther)

Not all the reflection come from the inside unless you paint that black out has no effect and on the projector well its just a projector doesnt use reflection the chrome on the outside was just the finish no purpouse

Does painting the cut of shield cause any issues with the beam? I am definitelyd oing that.

No it doesn't. Just be sure you don't paint the reflector We have just painted the little part that switches up and down.

When you painted the cut off shield, did you have to prime that area? and use a special high temp paint?
what did you use?
